Kinder Readers!
Funded Aug 22, 2015Thank you so much for supporting our Kindergarten reading project! The students are loving their new books! They keep them in their book boxes and read them independently and with partners on a daily basis! The books that we received are B and C leveled readers, which is what most of the students in my class are reading independently right now! The different topics are fun and interesting - Cloud Pictures and Shape Monsters! You all helped our classroom library grow and we are very grateful! I hope you enjoy the cards and pictures!”

Thriving Readers in Third Grade
Funded Aug 25, 2014My students are so excited to have the books you provided to us in our classroom library! They are already stuffed into SSR (silent reading) folders and some are being used for read aloud. The books were chosen because they were on a third grade reading level and touch on a variety of student interests. Having books on a child's reading level is crucial to reading success and being a new teacher, I was short on third grade level text. This pack of books has helped our library grow and the students are loving the books we received!
I am also allowing students to recommend books to their friends, and these books have been the center of this activity. Students were jealous when another was able to choose one of our new books, so when a friend recommends the book to them, they want to start reading it as soon as possible! This excitement is very important for reading success!
I also chose both non-fiction and fiction books. A good classroom library should be full of both genres, so that students are practicing reading using many different kinds of skills and strategies. These books touch on social studies, science and fiction reading.
Thank you again for your support! It made a difference in every students' year!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hanna

Funded Sep 12, 2012Dear Donor,
This letter is a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my Kindergarten classroom! The art materials that my class received have been used almost every day!
We have used them to learn patterning, color words, and for various art projects that connect with language, science, social studies and math. I have twenty one students who are using and enjoying the materials. Nine of those students are ESL, so hands on materials are crucial to their educational success.
All teachers face budget shortfalls, and I would have never been able to provide these materials for my students on my own. Thanks to you the students' potential for success is higher!
Without donors like you, teachers would struggle even more than they already do!students”
