My students are pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. At this age students love to explore and discover. They love working on an experiment that the results are not what they expect. When we observed mealworm's in first grade, students did not expect the mealworm's to change into beetles. In kindergarten we studied Isopod's and students had no idea that "roly poly bugs" were Isopod's known as pill bugs and that there was another type of isopod, sow bugs, learning all of that through observation and inquiry made them excited about what they are learning.
