These books will promote the literacy rich classroom that I seek to establish. The classroom library is a place of learning and investigation where we enjoy reading to each other and independently. We are able to explore and imagine beyond our wildest dreams when reading books. Books should be windows, glass doors and mirrors to help young readers learn about things and places they cannot access otherwise. In updating the classroom library I have chosen books that are of interest to the kids and that I feel will take the students beyond their present level of reading and learning. I have watched the children grow over the last few weeks into investigators and eager learners when reading and looking at books. Their eyes will sparkle when they find snap words in new books that will be added to our classroom. I love to read to the children and they are beyond excited to be able to read to me and their friends. This project will help the students enhance their knowledge and experiences through books and share reading with their families.
