123, Count With Me!
Funded Dec 28, 2013You made a huge different in my students' number sense this year. Because of your generosity, my kids had many choices of age appropriate games to review and challenge their math skills.
My students were so excited to see these games. They really thought I was letting them have fun and play games and taking a break from a real lesson. Shh, don't let them in on our secret! These games were so perfect my students to play by themselves and with a partner while I worked with small groups that needed intervention.
I will never be able to thank you enough for every dollar that you gave to support my students. Thank you for providing great games for my students and for my future students!”

Books and Bags for Bedtime Tales
Funded Dec 19, 2013You made a huge difference this year in my students' reading. You provided the materials needed to help bridge the gap between home and school. The books and bags made it so easy for my kindergarteners to become independent readers.
I was amazed how many parents AND teachers asked me where I found these books. They were the perfect level books for emerging readers. The content was age appropriate, the text was simple but challenging and the pictures were vibrant. These kids loved grabbing these books. They began to feel like readers and so they became readers.
Thank you for helping me to provide age appropriate books and a safe and fun way for my students to carry these books. You helped make a different in my teaching, my students' lives and my parent involvement this year!”

5K Creating In 3D!
Funded Nov 15, 2013WOW!!! This year will be one for the books. It took a lot of trial and error, youtube videos and connecting on the web but we were able to make so many projects. This 3D printer became a constant learning opportunity in our classroom.
We made many animals to scale, created tiny game pieces that went missing through the years and many objects that could bend and move. This printer became a tool for my students to not only extend their learning but provide them opportunities to learn about job opportunities in this technology age. I was amazed by the conversation these 5 and 6 years held when discussing ideas of different things we could make.
Thank you so much for providing my students with this opportunity. I cannot wait to start back next year with this printer and be able to accomplish more complex prints!
Thank you for your continued support of my classroom and most importantly public education!”

This classroom project was brought to life by MakerBot and 5 other donors.Heads Carolina, Tails California
Funded Nov 11, 2013You have had a huge impact in our classroom this year. So many if my students do not have access to technology at home and because of your gift they are able to use an iPad at school. This iPad has been used in more ways than I ever could have imagined when I wrote this project.
My students have been able to contact other students around the country using FaceTime. It has been so awesome to have my students gear different accents, see different classroom and talk to students their own age all while staying in the classroom!! We have also been able to use this iPad to take pictures to document the learning in our classroom. We plan to use these pictures for our end of the year slideshow! I have also been able to purchase apps that my students can use to challenge themselves and enhance their learning.
I never will be able to explain the full impact this iPad has served in our classroom. However, because of you my students smile a little brighter and are excited to come to school, to see how else we will use the iPad. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

Extra, Extra! "Find Out" About It!
Funded Sep 15, 2013Wow!! I cannot begin to describe the impact that these magazines have had on my students! Every month my students are so excited to discover which magazines have been shipped to our classroom. Parents ask me all the time about the magazines that come home. They are beyond thankful that their child was given this gift.
This has been the gift that keeps on giving. Every week my students receive a magazine that correlates so well with our Science and Social Studies standards. We are able to read it together, utilize many reading skills and take advantage of the technology portion. We have so much fun reading and learning from these magazines. But, the best part is the fact my students are able to take these home every week. It is the best gift I have been able to share with my student's families.
This gift would never have been possible without the help of everyone of you. Every dollar given was used directly towards my students and their very special magazine subscription. My entire kindergarten team is thankful for the resources I have been able to share and hope to have their own classroom set next year. Thank you for providing this resource to my students!!!”

Listening Leads to Reading!
Funded Jun 28, 2013I will never forget that day that "the boxes" arrived. Over 20 kindergartners' eyes were glued to the boxes. They were anxious and excited to see what was inside. I let them know a few days before that some very special donors believed that our listening station needed some updating.
My students were guessing new books or headphone but when they saw the CD players they were just besides themselves. They thought it was the coolest thing to have a portable CD player read a book to them. When they realized that we had 10 portable CD players they could not wait to listen to a story! Every child had a chance that very first day to listen to a story and they could not wait to come back to school to listen to another story!
Every year, unfortunately, I have a few students who did not grow up getting to listen to stories. It is amazing to watch their eyes light up when they hear a story read with such great expression. You have changed my students outlook on reading and for that I am forever thankful!”

Learning Is More Fun With Playdough!
Funded Aug 1, 2013I will never forget that day that "the boxes" arrived. Over 20 kindergartners' eyes were glued to the boxes. They were anxious and excited to see what was inside. I gave them a little hint that it was going to be for our art area and added to our "word work" station.
I pulled out all of the playdough and you would have thought I just told them we were going to Disney World. Excited does not even begin to explain their emotions! We quickly learned how to flatten the clay. They then bean making shapes and forming letters!
My word work station has become one of the most loved areas and a place where I know my students are learning. They are building sight words, their names, environmental print and so much more! They are loving words!
I cannot say thank you enough. You have helped change my classroom learning environment. Thank you for the bottom of my heart for this gift you have provided my students!!!”

Sight Word Savvy
Funded Jun 7, 2013I will never forget that day that "the boxes" arrived. Over 20 kindergartners' eyes were glued to the boxes. They were anxious and excited to see what was inside. I gathered them close to our classroom rug and explained some very special people wanted them to have these materials. They were beyond ready for me to open the surprise. I carefully opened each box and explained what the materials were and how we could use them.
They were so ready to begin using the materials right away. So, we started with using the magnetic letters on our board and building our sight words and names. They loved it! But the best part was when I shared that after we learned how to use all the materials they would be able to freely choose the materials they wanted to use. The whole room erupted in an applause.
I can honestly say, I have never had a year where my students were so engaged in literacy workshops. Every student, no matter their level, has materials that they can use to challenge them. They have so many options that I never would have been able to offer.
I cannot say thank you enough. You have helped change my classroom learning environment. Each student now has materials for their level without being singled out. Thank you for the bottom of my heart for this gift you have provided my students!!!”

Chicka Chicka, ABC, Won't You Come Learn About Me?
Funded Jul 9, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donations that brought this project to completion. My students absolutely loved listening to the story, "We All Sing With the Same Voice." It sparked a classroom discussion on the differences and similarities in our classroom that I have never experience before. You could tell that these sweet, young children felt free to express themselves without being judged. It was a wonderful feeling.
After reading this beautiful story, my students began their project of completing a life size masterpiece of themselves. I was excited that I has so many different materials and items that my students could use to create themselves. It really allowed for their creativity and their uniqueness to shine through. They were so excited to place hair bows, caps, buttons, bow ties, shoes, hair color, skin color etc to represent themselves.
We have these life size masterpieces hanging in the back of our classroom. They are remainder that our classroom may be diverse but we are not just a classroom but a tight knit loving community. This project really helped establish our classroom community and keep it rocking all year long. Thank you for believing in my students! YOU ROCK!”

Mrs. Farr
This classroom project was brought to life by JP Morgan Chase and 45 other donors.Big Books, Big Pictures, Big Words, More Fun!
Funded Dec 20, 2012This is a very small way to express my gratitude of how big your impact has been in my classroom. The big books you helped provide in my classroom has had a BIG impact on my students! I no longer have to worry about all my students seeing the pictures and I know my students are being exposed to great texts. They love being able to read these books by themselves or with a partner during workshops!
Every week we are excited to read a new book and learn together. I believe they are even more excited to read with a friend. It is so amazing to watch them read by themselves or with a friend and play "teacher." They love to reenact the lesson from whole group time. They are learning so much during this time by asking each other questions and having fun!
These big books have added such an excitement to our reading time that I am so thankful for! Without donors like you, my children would not have been given the opportunity to be exposed to great books and to practice reading to others. Thank you so much for the impact that you have on our future!”

Mrs. Farr
