Funded Oct 21, 2016My class and I were very grateful when we heard the news that our project was funded! We could not wait to get them in our hands and start learning!
My students love these resources! They can use them independently during math station time.
The resources are engaging and fun and the kids are learning without even knowing they are learning!
Without your donation these items would not be a part of our classroom. It is important that students receive relevant and up to date materials to be the best learners they can. We thank you very very much!”

Fit and Healthy Second Graders!
Funded Sep 8, 2016Thank you VERY much for your donation to this project! My kids absolutely love using Go Noodle for brain breaks and it has been great having the premium version to use for practicing math facts! The kids love this subscription and look forward to using Go Noodle each day!
The power bands are going to come in handy this spring! Though I haven't used them yet, my plan is to have students wear them and monitor their activity! The kids look forward to using them during brain breaks and during gym class! There is even an app they can follow along with!
Thank you so much for allowing my classroom to try some new things!”

Happy and Healthy Second Graders
Funded Sep 1, 2016Thank you SO much for making this possible! The kids absolutely LOVED this trip!
When we got there, the students were broken up into groups and sat at their stations. They learned how to make dough from scratch and used different techniques to prepare their food! They were given lots of healthy toppings to put on their pizza and got to try some new things on pizza they probably had not before!
This field trip has made an impact on the kids. They still talk about it to this day! The trip allowed the students to bond as a class and share a memory that will last forever. Some of the students want to take more classes!
This trip inspired the kids to try new things and not be scared of something different.
I am going to try to incorporate this with my classes for years to come!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!”

Interactive Whiteboard Reading Materials!
Funded Apr 30, 2015Thank you SO much for donating to our project! The kids love playing the computer games! Every single time I mention them they get excited!
I am using these resources for review time in the classroom, as well as during station time. The kids are learning how to take turns during the game and play the correct way. They love how interactive they are and love all the graphics! I use the comprehension book for check ins! Students independently read a passage and answer questions about what they read.
I believe that these materials help get students interested and excited about learning! They are fun, instructional, and easy to use!
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!”

Interactive White Board Materials!
Funded Jan 17, 2015When the box of materials came in, the students were so excited to see what was in them! I quickly loaded them onto my computer that night and previewed the materials. The next day, I introduced a game during math. The students LOVE the whiteboard materials! They were so excited to be receiving games they can play in class and at recess! They are in awe of the technology and it is really helping to make the concepts come alive!
My plan is to introduce the computer programs when they are addressing the current concepts we are learning. I then want to have students be able to independently work with the materials during out guided math time. This is when I take one group of students and other students work independently. I also plan to have the students use the white board during recess! This way they are playing games, but learning something at the same time.
This project is helping me incorporate technology into the classroom. The students are engaged and want to learn with all the games! This project is allowing the learning to come alive in my room and for that, I am thankful!”

Funded Dec 2, 2014When I told the kids they were getting two more iPads they were excited beyond belief! These are special, too, because they are iPad minis! My student are in first grade, so the size is perfect for them! When the materials were blown away they were super excited to start using them and were very eager to get going!
Right now, I am using the iPad minis as instructional tools while I am taking reading groups! The kids get on a reading program and are able to independently read while I take a group. We have also used the iPad minis to do the "Hour of Code", which is a technology initiative worldwide.
My hopes in the future are that we will continue using the iPads for reading, but also to document our work, show how we problem solved, and maybe even do some research! I recently received an interactive white board in my classroom, and I hope to be able to hook up the iPads and do some lessons on it!
Thank you again for being a part of this project. It wouldn't have happened without you!”

Funded Sep 17, 2014Having these iPads donated to our classroom has helped our learning tremendously! The students love having the technology and some are able to show others how to use the equipment! The kids have been so careful with the iPads and are truly appreciative of them!
During reading time, students have been using the iPads to access a reading program. They find a quiet spot in the room, plug in some headphones, and get engaged in reading! The students love being able to take the iPads with them throughout the room! We have also used the iPads for math! Kids are using games and programs on the iPads to make learning fun!
Not only do the kids benefit from the iPads, but I do as well! I have used the iPad to capture pictures of the students working! I plan on uploading pictures to my website so parents can see all the hard work their children are doing each day. I also use a program that allows me to make a quiz and have the students complete it at their own pace. They take an iPad, go take the quiz, and pass it off to the next person.
These iPads have helped my class in numerous ways. I can't thank you enough for the generosity you showed when you decided to fund this project. The kids and I are forever grateful!”

First Graders Need Resources!
Funded Apr 11, 2013Thank you SO much for donating to my project-First Graders Need Resources! The kids could not be more happier with the items we purchased! I am truly grateful!
With your donation, I was able to purchase a lot of independent centers. These centers including word work file folder games, as well as reading and writing center boxes. The students can work by themselves or with a partner to do the activities in each box while I take small groups. The students love the activities and they are all aligned with our curriculum!
Along with the independent centers, there were a lot of math manipulatives that I can use when I take small math groups. These are helping the students with number sense, operations, geometry, and measurement. They have been extremely helpful when I have kids struggling with these areas.
Again, your donation is really appreciated. I am able to be a better teacher because of them! The kids are happy and engaged in learning, even when I am not directly instructing them.
THANK YOU!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Marshall
