  • Magnificent Magazines: Time and Scholastic News

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

The kids will be delighted by Time for Kids and Scholastic News! Thank you! It's nice that the project was funded. The students will be so excited to read and discuss current events. Our class will conduct a research project and write an expert book on an animal so the Scholastic News Animal Edition will help greatly. Thank you for remembering our kids.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Darcy

  • Books for All Readers

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give toward "Books for All Readers! With the beginning readers, I am able to supply my students with high-interest reading experiences that expose them to a variety of texts. My students are able to read these books in a small group setting in which they discuss the books and make connections to their own life.

Additionally, these books helped students grow into beginning readers. Students are more willing to read in front of the class and willing to take chances in a safe environment, in which students rally around those who are beginning to read. It forms a classroom environment that values all members.Thank you for your kind and generous donations! We are very appreciative!!"""”

  • Magnificent Magazines

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give toward "Let's Go Out With a Bang!"?! With the Time for Kids and Scholastic News, I am able to supply my students with high-interest reading experiences that expose them to not only real life stories, but expose them to a variety of text features.

My students are able to read these magazines in a small group setting in which they discuss the articles and make connections to their own life. They especially liked the article about the student who created the "Buddy Bench" since our school has one in our outdoor recess space.

These magazines will be helpful as we are now moving into our non-fiction reading unit, where we work on main ideas and details, as well as non-fiction text features. While reading, my students were able to identify some of the text features at the beginning of the unit.

Thank you for your kind and generous donations! We are very appreciative!!"”

  • Expo Expo Write All About It!

    Funded Aug 22, 2023

Thank you so much for the whiteboard markers and the whiteboards. My students are eager to use them, and they never have to worry about running out of ink. The whiteboards and markers have made it easier to share answers and strategies during math, and when we practice our handwriting skills on the dotted-line side of the white boards.

The class was so excited to be able to choose a whiteboard in their favorite color, but they especially liked the markers with the erasers attached, rather than using a paper towel to erase their whiteboards.

We will continue to use these whiteboards during class to share strategies and these materials will be especially helpful when we start working on multi-step story problems and multi-digit addition and subtraction. Again, thank you so much for your donation to our project. My students and I appreciate your generosity,”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Darcy

  • High Interest Readers

    Funded Aug 21, 2018

Words cannot express how grateful I am for your donation to our classroom. My students were so excited to read the new books. These books were especially helpful in motivating my struggling readers. My students' favorite books included Mrs. Nelson is Missing and Harold and the Purple Crayon. They really enjoyed reading the Frog and Toad series. These books have created a love of reading for my students, many of whom don't have appropriate leveled books that they can access without the help of parents or guardians.

We thank you with much gratitude for helping education around the United States and our classroom. People like you make a difference for our children. Again, thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness. We are very appreciative!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Darcy

  • Student Scientists Need Hands-On Kits to Let Them Explore

    Funded Aug 5, 2018

I cannot express how thankful my class is for the magnet kits and the K'Nex Racing Energy Rubberband Spring Powered cars. The magnets were a great introduction to our first Project Lead the Way Unit on Stability and Motion: Forces and Interaction! My students were so excited when we received them. They asked if they could start learning about forces and the way in which magnetism is all around us. We are now learning about complex machines and they are eager to begin building their rubberband racers.

Thank you again for your generosity and thoughtfulness. We are very appreciative!"”

  • Movement Leads to Success

    Funded Aug 23, 2018

Thank you so much for our wobble stools. My students were so excited to get them, and they even turned the assembly into a quick STEM challenge. They wanted to put the stools together without the directions. We use the wobble stools to help active students stay focused and engaged during lessons and independent work. Due to the strenuous workload students are able to stay active while completing work. Students are excited when their name is chosen to use a wobble stool for the day. I want to thank you again for allowing my students the ability to choose flexible seating to meet the various needs in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Darcy

Through K'NEX Racing Energy Rubberband Spring Power Kit, students will develop a deeper understanding of forces of motion. Students use the rubber band for propulsion. After testing, students can evaluate its performance and create design improvements. This kit will enhance students' ability in redesigning based on the exploration of the rubber band racing cars. With the Economy Magnet Kit, students will be able to explore how magnets interact with common materials. They will find out how magnets are used and why they are useful in everyday life. Following the testing phase of using magnets, students will be introduced to key vocabulary such magnetic field, magnetic pole, attract, and repel.
