iLearn! youLearn! weLearn with an iPad!
Funded May 18, 2018Thank you for your kind and generous donations that made this iPad a reality within our classroom. This technology has provided many learning accommodations and opportunities for my seven English Language Learners as well as an enrichment tool for all 19 of my students this year. Since almost all of my students come from low-income households and some don't have access to tablets or computers at home, this iPad opens so many doors to learning.
This technology is helping all of my students learn in many different ways: For my English Language Learners, they are able to use the downloaded applications to practice their sight words as well as learn new vocabulary. In their free time, students use the iPad to read books on apps such as Epic! which has expanded their opportunities to find books of interest. We have also incorporated our iPad into our math centers so all students have the chance to practice their math fact fluency.
My students that are most excited about this new technology, however, are my English Language Learners. In my classroom just alone, I have students who speak Spanish, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. These students love using the iPad to easily translate stories they are reading into their native language in order to bridge their comprehension from their native language to English. Learning English has become a fun, interactive part of their day now with the iPad rather than a daily frustration.
Again, thank you so much for making this technology a reality for my students. They are so excited to use it in the classroom as I am excited to incorporate it into our curriculum lessons and activities!”
With gratitude,

Funded Mar 30, 2018Words cannot describe the overwhelming, heartfelt joy you have not only brought to myself but to my students! You have helped make the dream of an enriching classroom library a reality for all the students that enter my classroom for years to come. These books will engage and excite my students to read more inside and outside the classroom. We will also be able to incorporate these books into our lessons. Again, I cannot thank you enough for supporting the next generations of readers and leaders!”
