  • Costume Designers or Engineers? Part 2

    Funded Dec 9, 2017

It made me want to be in our club and something for them to learn how to do sewing and cut clothing and get ideas and learn how to work together. Well I want to make sweater and jackets and maybe bag and get more different things to work with for our club. I really have nothing else to say we need two more sewing machines for our club's it would really help us.

These resources made it a little more exciting to come to school everyday and want to be in class and so far we've made PJ bottoms and we're starting leggings.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cushing

  • Chromebooks for Chemistry Students

    Funded Dec 29, 2017

I am very grateful for all the support of my students through Donors Choose to get Chrome books for my classroom. It has been such a change in the environment of my classroom and has allowed for many more creative projects and discussions.

My students recently did a discussion to propose a solution to the Flint Water Contamination crisis and today they are preparing for next's week tie dye lab and will be researching various tie dye techniques through pictures and tutorials. The Chrome books make a project like this possible.

    Thank you!”

  • Future Costume Designers or Engineers?

    Funded Nov 23, 2017

How these resources changed school for me was that it made me a little more excited every Wednesday at lunch or Friday after school it would be worth the day after doing work. Well what we did so far was make PJ bottoms and we're starting leggings. We bought lots of fabric and we plan on doing a lot of cool stuff with our members! Through this project we learned many things how to make patterns, use a sewing machine and also how to use a serger. Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom!”

  • Chromebooks for Chemistry Students Part Deux

    Funded Dec 19, 2017

Thank you for the amazing opportunity to get technology in the hands of my students!

Getting a set of Chromebooks for my classroom has been a labor of love, 2 at a time, over many project requests over the past year but we are just about there!

These Chromebooks are used by students weekly for lab report writing on Google Classroom, reading leveled scientific articles online, and conducting scientific research for inquiry activities and classroom discussion. They have made a hug impact in our classroom and I am incredibly grateful. Thank you!”

  • Throw the Microphone to Me!

    Funded Dec 23, 2017

Thank you for your very generous donation of the Qball to my classroom. We have only just begun using it in class, but it is already a game changer!

In classroom discussion, The students are having so much fun throwing the microphone around and hearing their voices amplified when they speak. This has helped my reluctant speakers become much more confident in their discussions and communication. Additionally, one of my students is almost mute and by offering the use of the microphone (minus the ball) to him on non-discussion days, he has begun to speak out loud in class which is a life changing experience for him.

From the bottom of my heart thank you for this amazing resource for my students.”

  • Chromebooks for Chemistry Students

    Funded Aug 15, 2017

Thank you for your generous donation! The Chromebooks has been the perfect addition to our classroom environment.

We have been using the Chromebooks fairly regularly, especially with our inquiry activities. I feel so relieved that our Chromebooks are becoming part of our classroom ritual. Having working computers in class has really changed the types of activities we are able to do. Students especially love the ability to research topics and study things beyond the textbook. Students even learned how to share the same document through Google sheets!

    Thank you!”

  • Amplify and Animate Our Science Experience!

    Funded Jun 17, 2017

Thank you for this unique and amazing classroom resource! The Swivl camera robot and accessories have been such a fun and interesting addition to our classroom.

I have been recording lessons and reviewing those lessons in order to reflect on my teaching and make improvements so my lessons are as strong as possible.

I have been sharing videos with colleagues and students for us to discuss the lesson, teaching techniques, etc.

Next, I'm hoping to use the Swivl for students to create backwards lessons where they watch the lesson at home and work on the skills in class. Honestly, I have so many more ideas I can't wait to try them!

    Thank you again!”

  • Paper and Markers Help Us With Argument-Driven Inquiry!

    Funded Aug 15, 2017

The poster paper and markers has been such an invaluable resource in my classroom! We have been using them during our inquiry (lab activities) to create posters and my students have been flourishing!

We just finished our third lab and set of posters. In each lab, students have been using the materials to develop evidence-based claims and present those claims to their classmates.

Student love using the markers and presentations and I have noticed their confidence grow each of the times they have completed a poster and presented it. It has been such a joy to watch and it has been possible because of you.

    Thank you so much!”
