  • Just the Basics, Please!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

Basic classroom supplies are anything but basic! Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. We are an active class, and these supplies including markers, pens, pencils, etc have already been so handy for students needing materials. We also use them for generating classroom posters and other projects.

The Clorox Wipes have come in really handy as well. Schools are a very germy place, especially during flu season, and we have been using the wipers daily in order to help keep our space clean and germ free.

Lastly, the gold stars are the big hit of the project. When students successfully complete an assignment they get a gold star, and I bet by the smiles on the students faces in the pictures you can tell just how proud and excited they are every time they earn a gold star. I love seeing their excitement as well.

Thank you for all your generous support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cushing

  • 21st Century Technology for the Teacher, Too!

    Funded Oct 17, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations! This MacBook has become a part of my daily routine and has helped me so much in designing lessons and planning curriculum for my students in Chemistry class.

Next year we are transitioning to brand new textbooks that are NGSS aligned. This will require me to completely revamp my curriculum in collaboration with my fellow science teachers. Thanks to your donation I have been able to work on designing that new curriculum for my students and it will really help next year get off to a smooth start!

I really appreciate your support of my classroom and public education.”

  • Let's Get Creative!

    Funded Aug 22, 2019

This has been a very exciting project! Students have started coming in and using the Cricut to make stickers for their laptops and water bottles and Sewing Club is starting to use it the vinyl and fabric in their projects.

With the vinyl, we are using the kids' ideas to come up with inspirational quotes to put around the school. I'm really excited to do this because I know it will create a positive school culture.

Additionally, my sewing club is developing their problem solving and leadership skills as they use the materials provided to create their projects. First up is socks!

Thank you for providing these opportunities to my students.”

  • Chromebooks for Chemistry Class

    Funded Aug 22, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation of Chromebooks to my classroom. These Chromebooks have become an integral part of my classroom and students benefit from them in so many ways. Through the use of Chromebooks in my classroom, students are able to track their progress of their grade, utilize Google Classroom, read scientific articles on Newsela and research various scientific topics.

I am very grateful for this donation as I see how helpful it has been for my students. I hope you realize what a great impact you have had on the next generation of learners.

    Thank you!”

  • College Going Culture with Sammy the Slug!

    Funded Jun 20, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation! The college banners have brought a smile to our teachers' faces and they have really been noticed by students! I sent my students' on a scavenger hunt and they had so much fun looking for the pennants in their teachers' classrooms and talking with them about their college experiences. I really think this project is going to have a positive impact on their views of college and spark more discussions with their teachers.

Thank you for being so supportive of our students and our school!”

  • Hearing the Cricut Would Be a Good Thing

    Funded Dec 7, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Since we have received the Cricut and heat press in my room, it has been so exciting to become the crafting hub of the school!

My graduating seniors started showing interest when I taught them how to take a piece of their original artwork and turn it into a heat transfer vinyl that can be put on to a shirt. It has been so rewarding to see their interest peak when they can see their art come alive.

My sewing club was equally as excited. They are starting to work on how to incorporate their sewing projects into the Cricut, and I can't wait to see the results!

Thank you for this spark of creativity I am blessed to be able to observe in these budding artists!”

  • Helping Students Argue Their Lab Results

    Funded Nov 12, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. The large post-it note easels have been so valuable as my students develop argument presentation posters.

This week, my students completed a lab where they created a reaction matrix by combining various known chemicals and recording their observations of if there was a reaction, then they repeated the process but with a set of unknown chemicals. Then they analyzed and compared their data between the known and unknown observations to determine the identities of the unknown chemicals.

My students then develop group posters using your donation and presented their findings to the class.

Thank you for providing them with this valuable experience!”

  • Chromebooks for Chemistry Class

    Funded Mar 16, 2018

Thank you so much for the Chromebooks you donated to our classroom. With the addition of your donation, we now have 20 Chromebooks for students to use. This set of Chromebooks has been so valuable at transferring my classroom to a 21st century classroom. We can now utilize Google classroom and google doc assignments, Newsela for leveled online scientific articles, and proper data collection through excel spreadsheets. Students even create their lab procedures on google docs, share them with me for review, and get feedback all digitally before starting a lab activity. The Chromebooks have really come in handy as we continue to dive into NGSS standards.

    Thank you!”

  • Which Salt Makes the Most Effective Cold Pack?

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my Chemistry Classroom. My classroom participates in many labs throughout the year, and access to these temperature probes are going to help us generate better lab results and be able to communicate those lab results through presentations. Communicating scientific information is one of my classroom goals- and having the right tools for the job makes that goal so much easier to obtain!

I can't wait to see which other labs students are able to utilize these resources in this year and know that your donation is what made it possible. Thank you!”
