Essential Paper for a Chemistry Class
Funded Aug 30, 2010Thank you for the generous donation of paper to my classroom. It has been essential in continuing my classes with engaging and exciting lessons.
Students have used the paper to create posters that cover my room. They have really enjoyed learning and drawing about the Periodic Table, Chemical Bonding, and other Chemistry topics.
We have also used the paper for handouts and activities. This holiday break, my students have a large review packet to help them continue to study Chemistry while they are on vacation. Looking at their faces, they're actually happy about it!
Thank you again for your generous donation.”

Study the Environment in Chemistry
Funded Aug 30, 2010Thank you for your generous donation of environmental classroom supplies to my classroom. With your help, I was able to incorporate some really interesting projects and ideas into my everyday teaching.
With the pH strips, I was able to bring a fish tank into my classroom. What a joy it is to have a living aquarium, both for me and for the students. This has made the biggest impact in my classroom.
I can't wait to use the food testing kits as well- they will certainly be really fun and educational.
Thank you again for all your support in my classroom!”

Composition Books Make Great Lab Notebooks
Funded Jul 29, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. The lab notebooks have become a really important part of my students' classroom experience.
Every time we complete a lab activity, my students use the notebooks to record their hypotheses, observations, charts, graphs, etc. They can then use their notebooks to create lab reports about the topics we studied.
The graph paper in the notebooks has really helped my students stay organized and focused. Thank you so much- we really appreciate it!”

Art Improves Chemistry Learning
Funded Aug 30, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donation of paper, scissors, markers, and color printer to my classroom. These really basic supplies make all the difference in the world when trying to teach my students.
As you can see, the students were most interested in showing off and proud of their recent posters. They had to combine ions to form molecules- most students spend hours on this project. Without the construction paper, it would have been impossible to complete this assignment.
The copier/printer has made it so easy for me to support students as well. Thank you again!”

Integrating Art In A Chemistry Class
Funded Aug 30, 2010Thank you for your generous donation of clay and paper mache materials to my classroom. As you can see from my pictures, my students had a blast working on their projects. They also learned alot!
Students got the option to make salt crystals out of paper mache or clay pots out of the clay and discuss the chemical composition fo the clay. Most students had never working with either material! They learned so much about how to work with the clay and about the clay in the process.
Thank you again!”

Chemistry Students Need Vocabulary Help!
Funded Aug 30, 2010Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom! As you can see from my pictures, the students were so happy to receive vocabulary cards to use to learn key ideas for my class.
Every week, I use the colored cards to put up new and challenging vocabulary cards. Students each have their own set with a ring that they use to keep their cards and study from them for the upcoming weekly vocabulary test.
I have noticed since using these cards that the students are more aware of the vocabulary and are improving their chemistry knowledge.
Thank you again!”

Stained Glass Art Teaches Chemical Properties Of Glass
Funded Aug 30, 2010Thank you for your generous donation to help so many students across California! As you can see from the pictures, your donation of stained glass materials to my classroom has made a significant impact on my students and their learning.
I had never done stained glass with students before, and I wondered how students would be able to handle it. They LOVED it! Not only were they excited and engaged, but this project allowed my students to integrate art and chemistry while allowing them to be creative in their project designs.
I thank you again and look forward to your support of Donors Choose in the future!”

Make My Mimio Wireless
Funded May 14, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! With the school year having just come to a close, your donation will be a perfect way to start our the new school year in the fall.
When the students realized we had be given the accessories for the Mimio and we would be able to use it once again, they were so excited. They really loved using the interactive whiteboard because it was fun, exciting, and different. I liked it because of how much they were learning.
Thank you once again and know that the materials you donated to my classroom will be well used and well loved!”

Using Wii Fit To Promote a Healthy Lifestyle and Teamwork
Funded Mar 4, 2010Thank you so much for your unique and generous donation! The first day we set up the Wii my students didn't want to leave! It was such a team building experience watching my students create their Mii's to reflect each other's unique styles and facial features.
When the students started playing Big Brain Academy, it was awesome to watch them working together to solve problems, pop balloons in numerical order, and enroll in the academy. I just recently received the Wii Fit and Balance Board and I can't wait to incorporate this into my classroom as well.
In the future I look forward to bringing this tool out as a motivation for preparing for the CAHSEE and as a educational reward for good behavior. Thank you for helping me make my classroom interactive and exciting!”

Funded Apr 22, 2010Thank you so much for your donation of laboratory equipment to my chemistry classroom! I hope you see the excitement in my students' eyes as much as I do. With the end of the year wrapping up, this donation comes at the perfect time! When we return to school in September my students will immediately be able to engage in a variety of meaningful laboratory activities to help the material come alive. I can't wait to use the materials with students to investigate the properties of metals, light, and chemicals in the environment. Thank you again for your generous donation!”
