  • Please Help Me Be the Best Distance Learning Preschool Teacher

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you very much for helping me fulfill this much needed project. During this pandemic I have had to approach how I can effectively teach my little ones in an entirely new way.

I have had to completely move out of my comfort levels in lesson planning student engaging content and socially and emotionally connecting with my students through the computer.

Having new technology has made a huge difference in our day to day Zooms. We are able access the different websites and writing tools much faster. We are not always having to wait for the little color wheel to stop spinning. This helps the students stay engaged and excited for the next lesson. My students can hear And see me more clearly. I can use the whiteboard feature on Zoom with confidence.

During music the sound is so clear, the students love to sing along with me.

This year has been the most challenging year of my teaching profession but having up to date technology has made it possible for me to feel confident that my students are receiving the best lessons that I can deliver.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gross

  • Pretend Play is Fundamental

    Funded Apr 12, 2012

I just want to say a big thank you to each and every one of you. These materials have made such a difference in my classroom. Now I have the confidence that I am providing materials that I know will spark their imaginations and help them pretend to be in different worlds and situations.

The students literally lose themselves in pretend play. They can spend the entire time they have for "free choice" playing with these "toys". To listen to them acting out different scenarios is so entertaining and informative. They really love it.

So thank you again it your donations mean so much to me and my students, present and future.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gross

  • Outside Play Areas

    Funded Jun 6, 2012

My gratitude is overwhelming. Thank you so much for your generous donations. This project will be such a nice surprise for my preschoolers. This equipment will be such a welcomed addition to our playground. We just threw away our last hoola hoop, it was bent and broken. So now they will be able to play one of their favorite games again.

The kids are going to flip when they see all of the new things to play with. Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gross

  • A Story That Won't Be Forgotten...

    Funded Jan 20, 2012

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all of your generous donations to our project. This project has really enhanced our classroom learning environment in so many ways. As a teacher it is so nice to have such a vast selection of literature to accompany my lessons. Then to add the experience of listening tot he story on CD makes it so much more enchanting.

The students love to sit at our listening center and read along with the CD. It really helps to bring the story alive with all of the sound effects and music that go along with the story.

Thank you again for helping me bring such a lovely learning experience to my students.”

  • Which Story Would You Like To Hear Today?

    Funded Dec 15, 2011

Thank you so much for your generosity. The materials from this project has made such an impact on my students and our classroom. The students love to act out the stories with the puppets. Just listening to them retell the stories with their own versions is priceless. Also their language development is improving constantly.

The books on CD are such a hit in our class. They love to go to the listening center and hear all of their favorite stories. They have really enhanced their love of reading.

The Dr. Jean CD is our new daily goodbye activity that we do whole group. We love the "Alligator Chant" and other silly songs.

Thank you again for helping me make my classroom an enchanted place to learn.”

  • Have You Ever Heard...?

    Funded Dec 14, 2011

Thank you so much for your generous donation. The fact that I finally have a "professional" listening center in my classroom is such a surreal experience. It makes my job so much easier to have every thing on the stand and ready to go where ever I need it to go to accomidate our students. Our listening center is such an amazing addition to our classroom. My students absolutely love it.

Every day the students ask who will be able to go to the listening center. Then once they are there they have such a fun time going through the books on CD to choose which story they will be listening to. They have learned to operate the CD player all by themselves and take real ownership in their listening center. It really has captured their attention and imaginations.”

  • Supplies, Supplies, Supplies

    Funded Dec 28, 2011

Thank you very much for your generous donations. When I opened the boxes with all of the wonderful classroom supplies it felt like Christmas morning. The feeling of relief to have these supplies is undescribable. When I am doing a project with my class it is such a nice feeling that I don't have to cut corners on the creative process because I don't have the necessary supplies or materials. Now we have all that we need to be as creative as we like and that is all because of you!

    Thank you again!”

  • Art Supplies Needed

    Funded Dec 12, 2011

Thank you so much for all of your wonderful donations. Getting this project funded has been such a financial relief for me. With all the financial cuts in our district it has been challenging trying to figure out how to get all of the supplies that my students need and use on a daily basis. When the boxes came filled with all of these amazing supplies it gave me such relief to know that I will be able to fulfill all of our learning needs.

To have a closet filled with supplies that at my reach has really inspired me to think of fun and innovative project for my preschooler to do.”

  • And The Oscar Goes To...

    Funded Dec 12, 2011

Thank you so much for all of your donations. Your support for our classroom has been so generous and we are overwhelmed with gratitude. The puppet theater and CD have been such a wonderful asset to our classroom and learning experience. My students absolutely love the puppet theater. We just completed our traditional tales unit and now they are acting out all of the stories with the puppets. They take turns being the audience and the players. It has been such an incredible experience to see how they have just totally adapted to acting out and pretend play.”

  • Magical Manipulatives For Learning

    Funded Dec 19, 2011

Your generosity has left me speechless. Thank you so much for funding this very important project. My students love the new manipulatives so much. I have them out every day for them to "play" with and they are constantly waiting for a spot to open up for them to have a chance to experience on of the boards.

I get such joy watching their enthusiasm when is comes to these educational boards because to them it's just a really fun and interesting game to play. But in reality they are covering so many of the learning measures/standards that they have teleran while preschool. So they are having fun while discovering the joy of learning.”

My school is in the middle of one of the lowest income areas in the San Fernando Valley. Most come to school wearing the same clothes they had on the day before. The fact that these hard working immigrant parents are trying to give their children the experience of early childhood education is extremely commendable. Most of my parents work three or four jobs to get food on the table. Unfortunately simple family experiences that seem normal for a four year old to have outside of the classroom is not their reality. They don't get to the zoo, museums, or aquariums as much as I would love for them to be able to go. They are sweet kids and soak up any lesson I give them like little sponges. They are enjoying preschool to the fullest and progressing rapidly.
