Ela Materials for a Diverse Group of Special Education Students
Funded Feb 4, 2024I truly appreciate your contributions to my project.
My students have been so happy to have the new books and learning materials in the classroom. The new leveled books was were really appreciated. They are so proud of themselves when they are able to read the new books that are at their reading level. It is helping to build their self-esteem and confidence. The students were so happy when the packages arrived and they were excited to help me open the boxes.
During Black History Month, we read the new books that we received and learned about Heroes of Black History Month. The students were able to use the new crayons and markers to help them make their projects. We have been using the books, whiteboards and materials to help us learn and create.
Thank you so much for your generosity!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Tracey

Funded Aug 22, 2020I am so thankful for your support and generosity. My school has been remote only since the middle of March 2020. I was so glad to be able to send my students some work packets to complete offline while they are working from home.
My students have autism and other development disabilities which impact their ability to learn. Some of my students are unable to log in for online instruction consistently. I am so glad that I am able to print new materials to give to them thanks to your donations. This allows the students to practice skills from home.
My students and their parents are very excited when they pick up new materials. Thank you so much for choosing my project!”

Ms. Tracey

Funded Aug 13, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity. I was able to provide my 13 students with individualized bags with materials at the beginning of the school year and before the holiday season. Most of my students have been remote for this entire school year. They are able to use their materials when they work at home.
I am so happy that I was able to give my students hands-on materials to use at home. The students have thanked me for their bags and were really excited to receive them. They are much more engaged while they are doing distance learning because they have fun materials to use. I am so thankful for all of your donations to my students.”

Funded May 14, 2018My students and I are so grateful for your generosity that helped to get our Math Centers project fully funded. When our box arrived at school, I opened the box and told the student that we had new math supplies. The students sat on the carpet and took turns taking taking the new items out of the box. They were very excited. They wanted to use the new math games immediately.
I have incorporated the new materials for math centers and independent work. With a multi-grade level classroom, my students are each working at their own level. I have students who are learning to identify and write numbers as well as students who are learning multiplication. Using math centers has allowed each student to have meaningful work in the area that they are learning. Students are proud of their accomplishments and enjoy being able to work independently using our new materials.
I have noticed a huge improvement in my students' ability to share and take-turns during math centers. The new math folder games are a huge hit! The students like the bright colors and pictures on the folders games. They enjoy counting donuts, sequencing numbers on race cars and counting base-ten rods. Students encourage each other to get their work done and trade folders when they are finished. It is great to see my students so engaged in learning. Our math manipulatives keep the students on-task and interested in participating. The students like using the counting mats with our translucent number and counters.
I have noticed that my students are more interested in writing their numbers now that we have dry-erase number books. They really seem to enjoy practicing writing their numbers with the new books compared to paper and pencil activities. The dry-erase numbers books have helped students who write the numbers with reversals. Being able to trace each number then practice writing using dry-erase books has improved their number writing without reversing the image.
The dry-erase sheets protectors help motivate students to complete independent work. Some of my students become upset when they make a mistake. Having dry erase sheet protectors allows my students to easily fix their work.
I am truly grateful for all of your contributions. These materials will continue to encourage my students to eagerly participate in math in our Autism classroom. We are currently working on number identification and counting to 100. We will continue to use the materials during our daily math independent practice and math centers.”

Ms. Tracey
