  • Exploring Electronics with Snap Circuits

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

Wow! Wow! Wow! My students love Snap Circuits! We started using them the day they arrived! I had a handful of students who had used them before, and they loved being the experts that first day.

My elementary students started by working through lessons on basic components and circuits. Their favorite time came after the lessons when they could explore, create sirens, and try out the many projects available with these Snap Circuit kits.

This morning, I had some of my middle school students use them. I had to answer two questions. When are we using these again, and why haven't we seen these before now?

The project book in the kit is great. My students have learned to read the diagrams and differentiate between the multiple layers. They have had to use problem-solving skills and have had a great time doing it. This has been one of the most successful projects I have ever completed. Thank you for making it possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ridgway

  • Books for Hope and Help

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you for supporting my students! It’s Christmas all over again knowing the books are on their way. I am excited to share the news with my students and colleagues!

The books you have purchased will be a great resource for helping students and sharing hope! You started that process today, and I look forward to continuing it. Thank you so much!”

  • Bilingual Readers for English Language Learners

    Funded Oct 10, 2024

I want you to know how helpful your donations have been for my ELL students. To begin with, my youngest learners have been able to use the Big Bilingual Book of First Words to acquire lots of new vocabulary. We read the book together by looking at the pictures and then practicing the English words. I love that I can see the Spanish words as well. That helps me as I interact with my students.

We started using the Talking Flashcards on the same day that they arrived! They have been useful because students can see a picture of the vocabulary word, hear the word read out loud, and repeat words as often as needed.

All of the books have been a tremendous resource, and I am so grateful for your support.”

  • Books to Delight and Teach

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

First of all, let me tell you how helpful it is to have books for teacher character traits. It is hard to capture the attention of young children if all I do is talk, talk, talk. The kids love reading books. Often, I will have students who want to read the pages for me, and we always take time to talk about the challenges the characters in the book face.

I am particularly excited about having a copy of Aesop's fables. The illustrations are beautiful, and the stories themselves have been used to teach generations of children.

    Thank you for your support!”

  • A Quiet Place

    Funded May 8, 2024

My resources have arrived, and they are already making a big splash! The first thing students comment on when they come in is the teal seat in the corner. They love sitting it in and relaxing for a few minutes. They know they can take the time to calm down and refocus.

My students also use slime and kinetic sand. One student spotted the slime the day it came in and started using it. I had a small group of students who used the kinetic sand, and they repeatedly told me it was satisfying and soothing to work with it.

Individual students have also been using the stress balls. They are the perfect size for little hands. Overall, having these resources has helped me and my students start the year off strong.”

  • Marble Run for Logic and Construction

    Funded Nov 15, 2023

We put the marbles and magnets to use almost immediately! My students were incredibly excited about having more sets because they could work in smaller groups. As is often the case, they eventually started working together and making large marble runs. It was good to have more of what they truly enjoy.

We will continue using the magnetic tiles and marble run kits. I have a separate group of students who will be using them this week. They will be making towers/mazes of different heights and determining what factors they can change to change the speed of the marbles.

Thank you once again for supporting my students!”

  • Books and Supplies for Emotional Growth

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

Thank you once again for your support. As a first-year counselor, I was a little overwhelmed by the number of concerns that can be traced back to the pandemic as well as being daunted by my lack of supplies. Your support has helped me with that.

Of course, the real benefits have been to my students. I am using the books with my PK - 2nd-grade classes to talk about emotions, self-esteem, and a variety of other topics related to well-being. The students really like the SPOT books, and we are practicing our emotion detective skills while learning how to interact with others.

The playdoh has also been useful for me in individual counseling. Students are able to play and talk about what is going on. Overall, I enjoy having a variety of books that I can read with classes and individual students.”

  • Building Our Future with STEM

    Funded Nov 5, 2022

The resources for my Building our future with STEM have been phenomenal. My students have enjoyed using the Lego kits, the building kits, and the STEM projects. By far the most popular kits have been the magnetic tiles and the marble machines.

In addition to using the tiles with my GT students, I have used them with my math students. The tiles are the most frequently requested activities. Students also enjoy building towers and other items with the tiles after they have finished their assignments.

Your support has made it possible for me to provide compelling lessons to students from third grade to eighth. Thank you for your support!”

  • Camera Ready

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

Thank you for supporting my Camera Ready project. The project was a huge success in the spring, and the supplies have continued to benefit my students this fall.

In the spring, we used the camera, tripod, and other supplies to film a variety of projects for my speech and communication class. We filmed a daily news clip that was posted on our school's website. We also filmed mini-films that my students wrote and directed.

This fall, my students have been using the camera to film news broadcasts and other projects. Your support has helped many students.

    Thank you once again.”

  • Ready, Set, Film!

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you once again for supporting my Ready, Set, Film project. I appreciate how faithful you are to support my students and my classroom.

One of the products I requested, the green screen, was not available, so I had to order different products. This turned out to be a great blessing! I was able to find a green screen that cost less money, and I was able to buy some supplies that I really needed for my classroom: supply tubs and expo markers. These we use every day!

The camera, green screen and lapel mikes have also been helpful. I moved to the middle school this fall, so we are using them in different ways. I still have students filming news and doing interviews, but I am really looking forward to using them as we complete a unit on careers in math later this month.

Thank you again for all you do!”

Please support them and help me make a difference, today!
