When my students walk into the classroom every morning, I ask them, "How did you come to school today?" Their response is an excited "Ready to learn! How did you come to school today?" My response is "Ready to teach!" In kindergarten and first grade, students are learning to read, write, problem solve, and research on a daily basis independently for the first time. This can be intimidating to a 5 and 6 year old. Teachers have to come up with fun and engaging lessons to help relieve the stress and demands put on our students in today's learning environment.
