I would like to make our classroom lighting learner friendly. We currently have 12 fluorescent harsh lights in our ceilings. These lights can lead to a host of difficulties for children, including migraines, eye strain, stress and anxiety. We are requesting fluorescent light covers in order to create a calm learning environment. Studies show that colored lighting can enhance learning. I want to cover our lights with heat resistant fabric that reduces the flicker and glare of fluorescent lights. This fabric, attached with built in magnets, improves concentration levels, promotes performance, reduces anxiety, and creates a calming and pleasant atmosphere. I have found the items on Amazon. Educational Insights provides classroom mood filters that are solid light blue and I have chosen a pattern cover that has more of an art appeal. I want our natural lighting to improve visibility, health, behavior and mood.
