• Playaway Books

  Our Playaway audiobooks arrived today. I haven't seen my students this excited about something! It was so fun to see them excited about getting to listen to a book! We have to play a game to see who would get to read each book first because there were so many who wanted to read each one. I love that they all want to listen to these books! I just might have to see about adding more to our classroom library while they are so excited! Thank you again for helping us get these three audiobooks! One of these just might be the book that makes a student fall in love with reading and that is no small thing!”

• A Few of Things

  My students were so excited when they saw the green screen. We have been using it for their presentations. I have seen students who usually don't show a lot of interest in what we're going putting full effort into their presentations, just because they are excited to use the green screen.

  The rainbow baskets are holding our reading buddies right now. I was lucky enough to receive a donation that brought in a teddy bear for each student to be able to sit with during class. They look great in the rainbow baskets!

• More Books Means More Shelves

  Thank you so much for supporting this project! These bookshelves look fantastic at the front of the room! Students are definitely spending more time looking at the books featured up front than the rest of the classroom library. It is so fun to see! We were also lucky enough to receive reading buddies for every student. Don't they look great on top of the shelves? My students are so excited about reading right now! It might seem like these are just bookshelves, but when they could be holding books that help students fall in love with reading, that is very special indeed!”

• Let's Write!

  Thank you so much for supporting this project! Our writing mini lessons are so much fun, thanks to these books! Students look forward to our writing time and I have noticed them pushing themselves to imitate these amazing books. I love that they are making more connections to the importance of reading to be a better writer.

  These books are also a hit during choice reading. Whenever I choose one of the books that they read during choice reading time, they get so excited! It also helps when they're familiar with the story because then they can really focus on the craft of writing.”

• A Spot for All

  Thank you so much for supporting this project! My students were so excited when they saw the chairs! They are quite popular and they look great! They were not as excited when I showed them the sit spots for if they lose their flexible seating options. But they will definitely come in handy for classroom management purposes!

  We do love our super sticky notes! They haven't fallen down yet! They are a great way for students to show their learning. It is also a great way for visitors to see what we are learning!”

• Mentor Texts for Writing

  Thank you so much for bringing these writing resources into our classroom! It has been so great to be able to reach in the bins and grab a book for a mini lesson. I am already seeing the improvement in students' writing! My next step is to be able to have information with each book that will allow students to find their own mini lessons for improving their own writing.

  The best part about these books is that they also make great reading material besides being great writing resources. I love getting to share these titles with my students!”

• Quarter 2 Resupply

  Thank you so much for supporting this project! It is so great to be able to give students the supplies they need without having to add stress to their families. Notebooks have been a huge need this year. No matter how many new students I get in my RTI group, I am able to give them a notebook. The whiteboards have also allowed us to do some word work and they were great for groups planning their projects! I am going to have the whiteboards stored in the front of the room so that students can use them anytime they need to.”

• Writing Resources

  Thank you so much for supporting this project! These books are so amazing. Students have been looking at the books during reading time. They are going to be familiar with the books before I start using them for mini lessons. I see the different skills that the books are going to help address. I think students are going to learn so much. I love that there is a mix of fiction and nonfiction titles to help students learn. I can't wait to see how much students grow this year. Giving them the tools for them to be able to help themselves has been extremely helpful.”

• Resources for Writing Mini Lessons

  Thank you so much for bringing these amazing resources to my classroom! All of these books look great and I know they are going to help my students become better writers. For now, we are just sharing the stories. Our next step is to look at them for the craft part of writing! It is going to be awesome! I hope that by the end of this year, students will be developing their own writing mini lessons using their own favorite pictures books and parts of novels to guide the craft of writing! Knowing where we are heading next is so exciting!”

• March Book Madness

  Thank you so much for supporting this project! I gave the March Book Madness books a special, designated spot so that students can easily find them. I also made a little poster with a list of the books. I have issued a challenge to my students to see how many of the books they can read before the voting begins. It is going to be a fun way to bond over books with them. It is going to be exciting to share this experience with them. Maybe we'll have to have a special March Book Madness book talk time!”
