The Campus Cube Club
Funded Dec 5, 2022I am beyond amazed with your generosity and interest in my class of 25 fourth graders. There has been a big boom of Rubix Cube love with my students. They bring them everyday and when they have a free minute in class they are exercising their problem solving skills and dexterity! Thank you for allowing more kids to join in the fun!
Since we received the materials students ranging from 4th grade through 6th grade have been popping into my class during recess and lunch break to learn algorithms and manipulate the cube to match the colors. This club that you made possible has given students another option to spend their free time in small groups getting to know each other and getting familiar with the cube! Thank you so much for funding our project!”

Funded Sep 24, 2022The projector screen is finally up and being used. The picture and video is so much bigger thanks to the bigger screen making it easier for the entire class to see! The brackets are a perfect fit and allows me to adjust and level the screen. My project being funded is so key because it something that would benefit the whole class on the daily.
We are still waiting for the opportunity for the entire school to enjoy the outdoor blowup screen. I can't wait for kids to relax under the stars and city lights while enjoying a hot, buttery bag of popcorn and a refreshing drink as they dive into a movie! Thank you again for caring enough to read my project and partnering with me to provide the best for my students.”

PROjector Juiced Up on Lumens
Funded Apr 21, 2022Blown away by your generosity and thoughtfulness. I already set the EPSON Projector up and the lumens are projecting images clearly in a well lit room of natural and artificial lighting. My students are amazed with the sharpness and clarity it provides.
We just entered state testing, so the students are excited to apply everything they learned throughout the year. Testing is all online now, making keyboarding an invaluable skill. The Epson Projector has been a useful tool on reviewing, teaching, and preparing for the test. Thank you so much for providing me with this teaching tool!”

Funded Nov 10, 2021Thank you so much for caring enough to bless our class with a MacBook! The Apple will open our students to the creative core, introducing a whole new array of possibilities from creating slideshows of content we are learning about on iMovie to working on our educational platform, Schoology! COVID has hit all of us in different ways, but it has forced education to evolve and bring more technology into the classroom. As our students and teachers become more comfortable navigating, familiarizing, and using computers and different programs, the possibilities of learning become limited by only our imaginations.
Thank you for partnering with 156th Street Elementary in Gardena, CA and investing in our future!”

Funded Oct 31, 2018Chevron, you are amazing to care enough for our students here at 156th Street Elementary. There was so much excitement and mystery surrounding the packages when they were delivered. My students all screamed when they saw the color printer and the new pencil sharpeners. Right now they are creating a slideshow on Google Slides on the Physical Science Unit we just finished. They can't wait to use the color printer to print out a storyboard of their slideshow.
Thank you so much for blessing our students and school with your generosity. It was a teachable moment reminding my students how important it is to know how to write and applying the grammar and writing techniques they learn daily basis. And when I told them who the gifts were from they all yelled, "That's where my parents get their gas!"”

Funded Mar 27, 2018From your generous donation Ripples will be felt throughout the classroom, the school, the community and beyond. The Mac Book Pros will allow our Lego Club to access the sensors on the EV 3, and moving through the obstacles that much more accurate. You added another dimension for our students to calculate and help accomplish missions. These resources you provided are grooming our future engineers and problem solvers. We are truly blessed here at 156th Street that you are willing to aid us in equipping our students with the technology they need to start them on their path in reaching their goals. Thank you so much!”

Funded Mar 13, 2018We are currently in the middle of "Tuck Everlasting" and I can't wait to receive and dive into "Wonder" with my students. My students will benefit from reading a story that promotes doing the right thing when it is not the most popular, nor easiest thing to do. These novels equip me to introduce rich literacy, littered with figurative language and complex characters that are real and relatable. I want my students to understand "different" is what makes all of us unique and special. We need to be comfortable and accepting in the diversity that surrounds us.
Thank you for blessing our class!”

The First Computer Printer was Invented in 1938!
Funded Jan 25, 2018Having a working printer in our classroom has solved a lot of problems and made printing a whole lot easier. You stop taking the simple pleasures for granted and appreciate when you have the right resources to make a classroom run a lot smoother. My students are able to word process and print their essays and when I need to print a homework assignment I can whip it out at the touch of the "CONTROL P" buttons on the keyboard. We are truly blessed that you have partnered with us to bring us these classroom supplies that will serve me and my students on a daily basis.
Thank you so much!”

Funded Jan 16, 2018Our Lego Club is only two years old, here at 156th Street Elementary in Gardena and the students have taken ownership and diving headfirst into their introduction to engineering. Lego Mindstorm has provided a door into the world of hands-on problem-solving, using a formula of mathematics, science, creativity, and fun. The missions that our students need to accomplish, challenges and pushes our team to work together, communicate/collaborate, and exercise trial and error strategies. The reward comes during competition when you see their hands shoot up as missions are being accomplished and the roar of their teammates cheering them on.
Though our club is still in its adolescent stages we are learning and digesting a lot of information regarding programming. Our students have benefited from your generous donations of the EV3, which will help further their knowledge in the world of programming and engineering. Thank you so much for partnering with us.”

Funded Nov 7, 2017I am constantly blown away when my projects are funded. Shows that so many people within my circle and beyond care and are willing to invest into the children of tomorrow. Everyday I want my students to come to school ready to learn and have fun in the process. Having this speaker and wireless microphone has opened the door to so many more possibilities. Our principal has borrowed it to instruct the school during earthquake drills, we have blasted music during school and community events, and the kids love reading their essays in front of the class with the microphone. I am truly blessed by your generosity and the speaker will be used to help bring fun into learning. Thank you and have a Blessed New Year!”
