Students learn by doing. Using a microscope is a basic skill for science students at all ages. By supporting this project, you will help students have access to hands-on microscope time. These experiences could engage students to become interested in science for their lifetime. If we have microscopes available, students can see plant and animal cells and some of the organelles. Additionally, we can work in some math and learn about scale and proportional reasoning as we investigate changes in magnification when we change lenses. Student self confidence increases when they complete hands on experiences and begin to see themselves as scientists.
