Learning Materials for Inclusion Class
Funded Aug 31, 2010Please accept this note of thanks for your incredibly generous donation to our classroom. We use the materials and supplies you donated EVERY SINGLE DAY.
With these materials, we created a large picture schedule with brightly colored images of the different activities we do throughout the day. The pictures are laminated so they will last all year! The students are demonstrating early literacy skills by "reading" the picture schedule. This is great practice as they are learning to read.
In addition, eight of our students have "individual" picture schedules with smaller versions of the pictures which are printed in color and laminated. As they finish each activity, they check their schedules and put the small picture of the completed activity into a "finished" folder and they can see what the next activity is. This helps them understand the order of their day, predict what's coming next, and practice important vocabulary words.
We are so grateful for the ink and laminating paper so that we can continue to create and use pictures throughout the day and laminate our materials so that they last.
Our school is currently facing a budget shortfall, so without your help, we would not have been able to create these important materials.
Without donors like you, classrooms would have to go without and students would miss valuable learning opportunities.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Parker
