Tablets For Our School!
Funded May 25, 2016The tablets that we received in our classroom are used everyday during math and literacy centers. In school students have access to many free educational apps that assist in number and letter recognition, patterning, counting, ordering numbers, handwriting, sounding out new words, practice spelling, and more!
In today's educational system it is vital to have technological access. With an ever growing technology system in the world, it is important that students have access to learn how to use these tools and they are also much more engaged while using the tablets. Because technology is such a big part of life, there are hundreds of education apps that engage children in math and literacy games and activities. Students have access to these everyday during center rotations. These help students stay on task, focused and practicing skills taught during whole group instruction.
The class was amazed and beyond excited to receive the tablets from Donors Choose and Sonic. They are thrilled to be able to use technology every day during class.”

Listening Center and Books!
Funded Aug 11, 2016My students were extremely thrilled to receive the items for our new listening center! During literacy centers students use the listening center every day. They are able to practice directionality of reading, book handling skills, word recognition, and much more! Students are then exposed to new books and reading more often which as studies show improves reading skills and introduces new vocabulary more than any other method.
In our classroom, students are read aloud to each day and now are able to have a book read to them in the listening center each day. Every student has expressed how happy they are to have received this listening center from all of our donors.”

Kindergarten Classroom Supplies
Funded May 25, 2016My students are using the new classroom supplies during our math and literacy centers. We now have puzzles that help spell and sound out three and four letter words, write and wipe mats so students can practice hand writing numbers, letters and words, and letter stamps as a way to practice spelling and letter recognition. My students have been using these materials everyday during centers. The various manipulative's give students engaging materials to master skills taught during whole group lessons.
When I first introduced the materials to the class they were absolutely over joyed and excited to begin using the fun and engaging center materials. The class is very appreciative and happy to have these new materials. These resources help motivate the class to stay on task and practice skills. Currently, we are learning letters of the alphabet, sight words such as "the" and "like", and numbers 1-10.”

Funded Aug 29, 2014I cannot begin to express my gratitude for all of your generosity and kindness. With all of your help my students will gain access to materials that will enrich the curriculum and drive motivation towards reading, writing, mathematics, and science.
The tools you have helped provide us with will give my students an organized place with the purpose of instilling responsibility and independence in learning. The Scholastic magazines will be an exciting activity for students to look forward to monthly. They will be able to read and discuss current event articles written by real scientists. Not only will this be something for the students to look forward to, but it will help students develop and improve non-fiction reading, comprehension, and analysis.
It is so great to see people who share the same love of learning and recognize the importance of reaching children. Thank you so much. I cannot share the terrific news with my students and colleagues!”
