Currently, our classroom library is housed in shelves that are difficult to access. Baskets of books cannot be viewed from the front and must be removed in order to be seen. The forward facing shelf will draw students into the books and encourage independent reading! Our classroom is a place where we foster independence. The book shelves and the mailboxes will allow students to access their materials more freely and encourage the independence we hope to instill. In the mailboxes, students will keep their communication folders, homework notebooks, and clipboards with special assignments for use when they finish a task at hand.
