Reading and Researching With Technology
Funded Apr 10, 2019Our school year has been one of new experiences, the Microsoft Surface Go has added a new layer to the class environment. My second-grade students are always excited about learning. However, the ease in which using the Surface Go has made researching topics fun and has their eyes sparkling with excitement.
When we first received our Microsoft Surface Go, the students researched sharks and although sharks are fascinating, what the students enjoyed most was being able to share the information with each other. Since then, my students have conducted other researches using the Microsoft Surface Go. Being mobile and not confined to a desktop computer has made all the difference.
Additionally, the Surface Go is also compatible with our online literacy and math programs. This is amazing because students can share their experiences with classmates and the learning environment has transformed to one of fun, and they all look forward to using the equipment. Overall, I would like to say thanks for providing a tool that can be utilized for education and fun.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Microsoft Corporation and 13 other donors.I Can't Hear!
Funded Apr 24, 2013We are honored that you graciously fulfilled our request for our "I Can't Hear" project! We received a class set of headphones to use in the school's computer lab. This year the headphones came in handy because the students are required to take online reading assessments. With the new headphones, there are fewer distractions and noise interference from the computer speakers. Each student has their own set of headphones and is able to concentrate and master their literacy skills. The students are taking ownership and making sure that they are handling our class set of headphones with care. We're are glad the University of Phoenix cares and selected to be a donor!”
