Basics for the Classroom!
Funded Aug 14, 2023Thank you so much for your donations to the art classroom! One of the items that my students have enjoyed the most are the kwik stix. They love painting with these and filling up space which is bright and colorful!
All around, your donation has helped inspire my students and we are making the most amazing art. The cleaning supplies have also helped tremendously. A clean room is the first thing that students see when they walk in the room and it sets the mood for an entire day!
Thank you for helping me love teaching again and for giving my students the opportunity to succeed and have a great time doing it.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Kostelka-Coullandreau

Funded Nov 5, 2022Thank you so much for your contributions to our classroom. The students love the new alternative seating and center arrangements!
It has been a huge improvement to the classroom having new cushions, tables, building blocks, and even fluorescent light covers. The students are calmer and more focused on their art due to the lighting improvements!
Lastly, they are extremely motivated with all the new art supplies. Students are excited to use drawing tablets, for example. Every student in the class now has a drawing tablet and we have used them every day since the donation!”

Funded Aug 15, 2022Thank you so much for your donations to the art classroom! One of the items that my students have enjoyed the most are the art tablets. They draw over and over again, erasing each image and restarting. The how-to-draw books are used everyday and they are a huge hit! Our specialty crayons have also been so fun for students to enjoy their year-long sketchbooks.
All around, your donation has helped inspire my students and we are making the most amazing art. Our centers have also been impactful to the younger grades. They do centers while I work with one small group at a time to do a project that we wouldn't normally get to do.
Thank you for helping me love teaching again and for giving my students the opportunity to succeed and have a great time doing it.”

Funded Aug 13, 2021Thank you so much for the donation of paintbrushes and erasers. My students have enjoyed their brand new paintbrushes and we use the erasers everyday.
This week we are working with directed drawings in preparation for an art contest coming up that brings focus to littering in Oklahoma. Students are using the erasers as we make mistakes and work through the difficulties of drawing. Then we are able to use the paintbrushes to finish out our artwork and create a beautiful masterpiece.
We appreciate you so much!
From,
Mrs. Coullandreau and her students”

Funded May 7, 2021Thank you so much for your donations. Our playground needs to be more all-inclusive and the swings that are now in our playground are amazing for all the students that need them! You truly made their lives better.
The swing set has now arrived and was just installed. One swing is already installed! We are waiting for the other swing as shipping was delayed. However, we hope to have it soon. With summer and the heavy equipment being shipped, this project took many months to get to this point. However, the items you bought us are so durable that they look amazing and will last for so many years to come.
Thank you so much from all the students at Del City Elementary.”

Funded May 7, 2019Thank you so much for your donations! We received a beautiful rug that seats 30 children. It is colorful and so useful for our class. It is high quality so I know it will last for years to come!
I also received 30 clipboards. My students will now be able to sit on the rug and use the clipboards to draw during special activities. This works especially well for PK and Kindergarten, who sometimes have a hard time transitioning from the rug to big tables.
I received spill proof cups, as well. These are a LIFESAVER when it comes to children constantly spilling cups of water. Donors Choose and Amazon also sent new paint pallets with this order that is exciting and unexpected! I now have brand new palettes that are durable and very easy to clean.
Lastly, Thank you so much for the extra paint! My kiddos are set up for a TERRIFIC year next year. They are so excited to use these items.
I know that with your help, we are making a difference in my students lives. Before this year, many had never painted with nice paint. Most had never made a clay project or learned to weave. My students love art.
Thanks again for helping my class be meaningful to my students!!”

Funded Oct 8, 2018Thank you so much for your donation! I purchased three drying racks with your donations and I love them! They are so easy for the students to use and it helps me organize the 200 pieces of art I get daily to dry.
I included 6 pictures. Three pictures show artwork we recently put on the drying racks. This week my Pre-Kindergarten students learned about brushstrokes and then created their own sunrise. We studied Van Gogh and how important his brushstrokes were in his art!
Your donations were so amazing that I had a little bit of money left to order spill-proof water cups for when we paint. I can't explain how amazing these are- they help my class function much more smoothly! Since this donation, I haven't had any spilled water!
Thank you again, from myself and my students!”

Funded Aug 23, 2018Thank you so much for the ceramic materials in our class! My students are beyond excited. When I told them we would be able to do ceramics this year they were shocked and wouldn't stop telling me and the donors "thank you!" They have never done ceramics before so this is new to all of them. They can't believe someone (or many people!) care so much about them that they donated.
We haven't done ceramics yet. It is better to do this in colder seasons when the kiln won't be too warm for the room. However, around Christmas we will do three separate projects. I have attached small screenshots of the three lesson plans so you can see our projects! We will do Van Gogh inspired sunflower bowls, Earth day leaf bowls, and a paint pallet wall art!
This week we are making self portraits that are based on the book "We're all Wonders." We read the book in class and then talked about how we are all unique and special. Students are enjoying expressing themselves in their art.
Thank you so much for your donation to my class. My kiddos are so excited and so am I!”

Funded Jul 30, 2018My students were so excited to receive the donors choose packages in the mail. One of my preschool classes opened up the first package. I explained that there are people who care about them and wanted to help our class! This truly meant so much to all of my students.
They love the mannequins and are excited to start using them for short gesture drawings! We also received 2,500 sheets of paper which is great for the paintings coming up in the near future! We have already made sketchbooks that we will use the entire year. They LOVE their sketchbooks (photo included)! The pencils and erasers donated have already been used in every single class. And most importantly, a visual timer was donated. We use this timer every day and it has been a life saver. It helps students who do not know yet how to tell time. It also helps my students who just need a visual reminder of how much time is left.
Last year, my school had a problem with stealing art supplies. This year not only has no one stolen anything, but students are taking pride in the materials. They make sure materials are put away, cleaned properly and are never broken. I'm amazed at this change, but I believe it is because they know they ARE good enough for nice materials. Because they are trusted with nice materials, they rise to the occasion and take care of them. '
Next week we will be studying the works of Dali and Mondrian. We will create works of art that are inspired by them. We will use paint and our new paintbrushes!
Thank you so much for helping our projects come to life!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Kostelka-Coullandreau
