Make Math Easy and Deepen Their Understanding through Hands-on Manipulatives!
Funded Dec 15, 2024I am thrilled to share the profound impact your generous donation has had on my students and their learning journey. Thanks to your support of my project, "Make Math Easy and Deepen Their Understanding through Hands-on Manipulatives!", my students now have access to a wide array of math manipulatives that have significantly enhanced their learning experience in our intervention class.
Before receiving the materials, many of my students struggled with abstract math concepts and often found it challenging to visualize and apply mathematical ideas. With the new manipulatives—ranging from base-ten blocks to fraction bars and number lines—their understanding of concepts such as place value, fractions, and even basic arithmetic operations has grown by leaps and bounds. These hands-on tools have made learning math not only more accessible but also more engaging for every student.
The manipulatives allow for more interactive lessons, where students can physically manipulate objects to see math in action. This has been incredibly impactful for my intervention students, who often need a more concrete, tactile approach to learning. The visual and hands-on nature of the materials helps them bridge the gap between abstract concepts and real-world understanding, ultimately fostering a deeper connection to the math content.
In addition to improving their math skills, these manipulatives have built confidence in my students. Students who were once intimidated by math are now more curious and willing to explore problems. Their excitement is contagious! They are now more comfortable taking risks, and I can see how their persistence in solving problems is growing every day.
Your kindness and support have helped improve their math skills and given them the confidence to approach future challenges with resilience. Thank you so much for believing in them and for making such a meaningful impact in their lives. The materials you've helped provide will continue to make a lasting difference in their educational journey.”

Funded May 10, 2023THANK YOU for your generous donation towards the "Collaboration Table to Write, Think, and Work Together!". I am so grateful; but more importantly, our students are elated to explore what they can do using the collaborative table. The students are using the Collaborative Table during their small groups and they love the fact that they can actually write down their thoughts at the moment when the ideas pop into their head. They are using the table during math and reading. It is really an awesome thing to witness students helping and working together to grow as a scholar using the Collaborative table.
Your generosity, support, and investment in the project are so appreciated. Our students will be able to enjoy this for many, many years to come!”

Funded Apr 5, 2023With tremendous gratitude and appreciation, I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give toward the "Reading is Succeeding!" With the shipment of new books, students enjoyed reading from different genres, such as graphic novels, chapter books, and scientific books.
These books enhanced students reading stamina during our silent reading time. Students continued to focus and read for 30 straight minutes! Likewise, students' reading comprehension grew as well since they could choose their books according to their preferences.
Thank you for your kind and generous donations!”

Make a Positive Learning Environment with an Organized Classroom!
Funded Jul 26, 2022My students are so excited to be in a positive learning environment created by the organized classroom. Students are now able to manage their writing notebooks, reader's response notebooks, and science lab book in their cubbies. They also have their writing tools, crayons, scissors, and other school supplies organized in their own desk using the cubbies. Likewise, now the students are able to hang their backpacks on the wall and avoid sharing germs with one another. Furthermore, with added bookshelf, students are able to enjoy more books from different genres from their classroom library.
Students were so surprised to see their changed classroom and now they boast to their friends. My students and I are so grateful to all the donors who contributed to helping my classroom transform into a positive learning environment. Students are saving lots of time in their normal routines because of this project. We are so thankful for your caring heart.”

Resources from Expert Teachers to Support Struggling Students
Funded Feb 9, 2022Thank you for supporting my "Resources from Expert Teachers to Support Struggling Students" project.
My students were able to get help to improve their writing, reading, science, and mathematics. From STEM resources bought from TpT, students were able to showcase their projects at a district STEAM Gala. Students taught the students and parents that came to visit our booth. Likewise, students learned to become responsible writers by learning to use student-friendly rubrics and writing lessons from the TpT. They were able to voice their old opinions and even write mini-research animal reports. The students enjoyed doing their End of the Year slide-deck projects, where they had a chance to upload pictures, share who their best friends were, and memorable moments, and reflect on what they've learned during third grade with me. I wanted to share their slide decks but it was just too many pages for me to upload. Thank you again!”

Reading is Succeeding; Readers become Leaders!
Funded Feb 9, 2022I want to thank you for supporting my"Reading is Succeeding; Readers become Leaders!" project.
The reading chair was delivered to my class in no time, and as soon as my students saw the chairs, they immediately put them into use. First, we used them for small group reading club discussion time. Students were able to freely move around the classroom to find their private spot to learn about what they read. Next, students use the chairs during their free independent reading time. As the classical music was playing in the background, my students were able to enjoy their favorite book for 20 minutes. Finally, students like to use their chairs during their writing period. They use the chairs in circles when they need to debate or discuss their opinions about their writing topics.
The students will continue to use the chairs to make their learning more comfortable and enjoyable in the classroom. They have shown great improvements in their reading and writing skills.”

Funded May 24, 2019I was fortunate to participate in a National Board Certification support program led by UCLA Center X organization. I had chance to collaborate with other refined teachers and share practices through analysis and meaningful reflection. The UCLA Center X has designed a program that encouraged all the potential National Board Certification teachers to learn and grow together as professional educators. Our goal was to help each other reach the status of accomplished teacher, so that we can go back to our individual schools and help our diverse students become successful scholars.
I am still in the mid-point of the journey, but my commitment of becoming National Board Certified teacher has grown exceedingly since the first day. As an educator, I am persevering on this rigorous National Board Certification Process to become the accomplished educator. This is a nation-wide certification that recognizes the work of accomplished teachers and their contributions to student achievement. I truly want to obtain that status. As UCLA Center X stated "The UCLA NBPTS Project brings accomplished teaching to the forefront by supporting educators to achieve the highest level of teaching excellence", I am excited to be part of the journey.
The highlight of this program was the part when we were introduced to many strategies that can support student learning. We also used the same strategies to learn all the components that we have to pass to obtain the National Board Certification. One particular strategy is called the "Triple Check Agenda" created by Thinking Collaborative organization. This is where the leader or the teacher set up three agenda: Track 1=Strategies to support your learning here in this room; Track 2=Application for these strategies with adult groups, and tips for sharing them with others; Track 3=Application for these strategies in classrooms with students. After practicing the strategies with the teachers, I was able to take it back to my school for effective collaboration between staffs and students. I am now more purposeful when I prepare for my instructions or lessons, always thinking of my students first. I am so grateful to all the donors for making it possible for me to receive this immense support from a prestigious organization.”
