Imagine a room full of inquisitive minds and active bodies engaged in learning activities that challenge them to use their creativity, problem solving skills, and logic. My gifted fifth grade class is a multicultural group from multiple socioeconomic levels, but all with a desire to learn and achieve at a higher level. Their desire to learn challenges me to provide various types of learning activities that engage them in the learning process. They are technologically savvy and prefer learning experiences that allow them not only to occasionally use technology, but to use it consistently and regularly in their learning activities. They have expressed an interest in not only using technology, but in developing their own applications and programs. Recently my class combined the use of technology with a book review writing lesson. After writing their book review, students developed their own QR Code with an audio link to their book review.
