  • A Hands-On Approach to Learning the Engineering Design Process

    Funded Jan 15, 2025

I am deeply grateful for the contributions to help my students better understand and learn the engineering design process. Our Panther community is always working to evolve and grow with technology, and any assistance is always appreciated. I look forward to teaching my students more about engineering design with the help of these resources.”

  • Flexible Seating for Successful Learning Environment

    Funded Feb 28, 2019

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for contributing to my classroom by donating to this project. Flexible Seating is a big goal for my classroom. Many adults can relate to the idea of increased productivity when we are located in a place that is comfortable for us. My goal for flexible seating is to give more opportunities for students to select their work environment while working independently to increase productivity and learning.

I wish you could have seen my students faces! To be honest, I wish you can see them every day when they learn they get to use their new bungee chairs. Somehow, when I tell a student they can work in the bungee seat while in our "Starbucks Mode", it's a new world (and I've never seen these kiddos so efficient with their tasks!)

It is with the ultimate gratitude that I thank you for this contribution. The next step for me after seeing their reaction is more flexible seating chances in my classroom, and I honestly cannot wait!”

As you all know, with the onset of new technology, it becomes increasingly expected that students have access to laptops, phones, computers, tablets, wifi, printers, etc. I even forget at times that some of my 6th graders don't have as many opportunities with technology because of their grade.

This project was designed to help close the gap between those with and without access to some technology. Any student who needs to print an assignment, project, current event, or any activity for school, will have access to do so in my classroom because of YOUR generosity.

It is my greatest passion to be able to provide a community-oriented, resourceful, and positive environment for my students. I am greatly appreciative to each and every person (and company) that donated to this project.”

  • Let’s Go Panthers! Cheering Our Way to Team Shoes

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

I cannot express enough my overwhelming gratitude towards everyone who made the funding of this project a success. It is my strongest belief that the activities students involve themselves in at a young age help shape their growth and development into the people they will become when they are adults. Being on a team builds character and requires commitment, dedication, coordination, and of course, hard work!! Our team is no different.

Our students are not only expected to maintain the minimum grade point average of a 2.0, but must also strive for mostly A and B grades on all progress reports and report cards both academically and in their behavior. It is important to us that our team acts and serves as role models for the school and show great judgment in and out of school.

All of that being said, it is an incredible treat and surprise to be able to show the team our appreciation and gratitude towards their hard work with something like team shoes! It is proven that having a set team uniform helps increase sense of belonging within that group and can increase work ethic and morale as well! Your contributions will go a long way for years to come with our cheerleading team as we improve our skills in cheer-appropriate shoes and continue to build a community of outstanding students!

Thank you for all of your support. Happy Holidays!”

    Ms. Adamson

  • Our Road to Math Success Through Technology!

    Funded Mar 31, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to my classroom! Since I teach primarily 6th grade, not all of my students have access to a cell phone that they are able to use during school hours. Even those who do are not always able to access the apps or activities we are trying to complete through them. At the beginning of the school year, I often had students sharing devices, and have even allowed students to use my own device in order to incorporate some tasks and learning opportunities using technology into my classroom. I immediately saw the need for extra devices to provide students access to more technology.

One way I like to use technology in my classroom is through activities like Quizizz and Goosechase! Both have a mobile app that is available for free download, but sometimes I find it more effective for students to work using a device and working individually, especially when I am using the activity to check for understanding. I also like to use it for differentiation, and give certain students extension tasks on the devices when they are ready to move on but not everyone is.

Overall this project has improved our student to device ratio, allowing more students to participate individually when needed!

Your donation will be cherished and appreciated for years to come!”

  • McMillan Cheer: Creating a Safe Surface to Learn New Skills

    Funded Nov 29, 2017

We are so grateful for your generous donation to our first year cheerleading team! The mats we received for this project have allowed students to learn and practice skills on a soft, safe surface so they may prepare for and participate in school performances, events, and the games of other sports teams at our school.

During our two weekly practices, our team is constantly asking, "will we take the mats out today?" because they are eager to develop new skills necessary for a strong, successful Cheer team! We have used them to try new jumps and jump sequences, and to practice some tumbling progressions, which include skills like forward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and round-offs. As we continue to grow our program and get stronger, we even hope to begin working small stunts!

Without this donation, we would not have the materials we needed to practice these new skills and grow as a team and program. Thank you so much, and as always, Go Panthers!”

  • Let's Go Panthers! Cheering Our Way to Team Uniforms

    Funded Nov 29, 2017

Our McMillan Cheerleading Team is extremely grateful for your help and support of this project and our team! Being a first year team, we did not have a lot of funds, equipment, materials, or previous experience in getting this team headed in the right direction, and it has been an incredible opportunity to watch this program grow!

That being said, we absolutely could not have done it without you!! We started this year without any uniforms for our team, so our initial goal was to get something that we could wear as team! Full uniforms can be very expensive and we had quite a few performances early in the year that required something the team could match in.

That's where your donations helped us! The shorts we got with this project gave our new team a uniform so they could participate in school performances, events, and the games of other sports teams at our school. Thank you again for your generous contribution, and as always, Go Panthers!”

  • Creative Healthy Lifestyles Book!

    Funded Jan 18, 2017

Thank you greatly for your donation to my classroom. In my Personal Fitness class, a requirement for our Medical Magnet students, I task the students with creating a Healthy Lifestyles booklet that incorporates ideas they learned throughout the course. This includes topics like nutrition, exercise science, sleep cycles, and stress management.

Last semester, before receiving the materials from this project, my students used ribbons and whole punchers to "bind" their projects. While the students' learning gains were still evident, it was cumbersome and difficult for the students to align the hole-punches correctly and the booklets did not stay together as well as we hoped.

That's why gaining this equipment has greatly impacted our classroom. My students were able to spend their time more efficiently by focusing mostly on the content, and I was able to bind the student projects as they were completed during class time.

We will continue to use this for semesters of Medical Magnet Personal Fitness to come, and I even hope to incorporate it into some of our math projects next year!”

  • Student Print Station

    Funded Feb 28, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to my classroom! At the beginning of the school year, I often had students asking if they could print their school assignments and projects in my room. I immediately saw the need for a reliable and accessible printer to help students turn in required assignments.

For my own class, Personal Fitness, students were tasked with creating a Healthy Living booklet based on topics they learned in class throughout the course. This project is meant to look neat and presentable and will be showcased to our administration and potentially to incoming students for our magnet program.

Before having access to the color printer, the student projects were printed in black and white from an older piece of equipment, so this has improved the overall quality of my student's projects as well as provided a printer for them to use as needed.

Your donation will be cherished and appreciated for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Adamson

In 6th Grade Mathematics, my classroom is typically flowing from one activity from the next to keep students engaged and on their toes. I like for students to feel comfortable and to contribute in creating the learning environment that is most suitable to them. In Medical Magnet Personal Fitness, I have been given an incredible chance to help a younger generation understand the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. The goals during our class will be to learn about the muscular system, general nutritional guidelines, proper warm up, stretch, and cool down techniques, stress management, and the importance of developing good sleep habits. In my class, students take time to reflect on different classroom experiences to see how what they are learning can impact their daily lives, and how they can learn more about themselves and take ownership of their learning each day.
