My students struggle with reading and often deal with difficult life issues. Reading stories that they can identify with, will help them engage in reading and develop social and emotional skills. Learning these skills will allow my students to work through life issues in and out of school. Having literature my students can identify with will also increase their confidence. My goal is to engage my students with high interest low level novels, to increase their reading levels so they will have great success in all their classes and become life-long readers.

About my class
