  • Somewhere Over the Boho Rainbow

    Funded Aug 1, 2022

Thank you very much for your donations to my students and classroom! It will all go a long way through out the school year! I can’t wait to see the smiles on the children’s faces when they enter into a safe loving and caring classroom. Thank you again.”

  • My Class Is on Point!

    Funded Jul 28, 2021

I want to personally thank you for all your donations into the classroom. These donations have made the children's every day routine easier especially my students that do have learning disabilities that have to have a set routine and their items gathered together. The students are all excited and full of joy when I showed the items that were donated by people who love education and the education of children. All the items were used in different projects throughout the year and made their project successful.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. K. Martinez

  • Back to Bright Basics

    Funded Jul 28, 2020

First of all I want to personally thank you for the donations that were given to my class. They were so excited to come into the classroom on their first F2F day. Their faces glowed to see pencil bags filled with donated items like the pencils, glue sticks, highlighters and index cards for unknown words and knowing that all those items were theirs and it just made my heart glow. The post-it anchor charts allowed and still allow for quick whole group anchor charts for visual aids for my students. The clipboards played a major part in the classroom because it was student organization of their uncompleted work.”

    With gratitude,

  • Word Reading Through the Lens!

    Funded Aug 23, 2020

I want to thank you for all your donations. Because of those donations, all students had individual pouches to keep their items to avoid cross contamination between items. When the students first walked into the first F2F classroom, of course it was different but seeing their faces glow to just be back in school and with items that are just theirs just made my heart smile. The students use the small group reading pencils to know which group will be worked with virtually or in person. Once the color is lifted, they know it is their group. The hot glue gun reassured all items to be on the walls and desks so no items fall to the floor and not get a germ.

For my tutorials and high level small groups, the sight word cards are used for them to read and dictate sentences with different levels of rigor. The ipad stylus allowed me to assist students with their devices without touching.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. K. Martinez

  • Write It! Read It! Use It!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

I want to personally thank you for all the donations but specially the markers. I know it doesn't seem a lot but when they saw the markers their faces were lit with joy. Ever since the students received the markers, they have worked extra hard with penmanship so they can trace their words with marker. Markers have just added to their creative in their work. They constantly ask to use the markers but they know their work must be presentable and know the expectations of how to use the markers. So again; we thank you so much. Also, the pre sharpened pencils gave the students immediate access to their tool to write their beautiful words.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. K. Martinez

  • Effective Tools for Effective Learners

    Funded Jan 1, 2019

I would like to begin with a huge thank you for the items that were donated. My class had a huge issue of absences due to being sick and allergies. The day the students saw me walk into the classroom with the cart, their faces light up because they knew we received something. When the students saw the Clorox wipes they went on a cleaning frenzy of their desks and were so surprised to see how much dirt and germs was on their desks. We began a weekly cleaning routine and our attendance increased because of less sick students.

The pencil sharpener allowed the students to always be prepared and ready to write and learn. The binders made a great feature in our Student Led Conference because all of their work was placed in the binders neatly and they were able to interpret their test a lot easier than being in a folder.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. K. Martinez

The sharpener allows the students to be prepared at all times by having 5 pencils in their pencil bags ready to go in case of a break in the middle of a lesson. The pencils would all be sharpened and ready to go. The binders allow the students to have quick access to their Math Drills and Problem Solving problems. This is an area where the students struggle and the more organized the students are now...the quicker we can jump into instruction. It also shows the students how to be responsible for their school items and their learning. Clorox wipes and a dusting wand allows the students to be in a clean, dust, and allergen-free environment. This decreases the number of sick students and allows for perfect attendance. Perfect attendance allows for all to receive instruction.
