Laptops and Tech for Education
Funded Jan 15, 2025The introduction of this technology into our classroom has had a profound impact on student learning, particularly for those with diverse learning needs. Many of my students benefit from interactive and multisensory instruction, and this new tool allows them to engage with content in ways that traditional methods could not. Whether through speech-to-text features that assist struggling writers, visual models that break down complex math concepts, or adaptive programs that personalize learning, this technology has helped bridge gaps and make lessons more accessible. Students who previously felt discouraged by their challenges are now more motivated and confident in their abilities.
One of the most exciting aspects of this new technology is how it fosters independence. Many of my students, especially those with disabilities, often require one-on-one support, but with assistive tools and engaging interfaces, they can now take more ownership of their learning. This technology is not just a tool; it's an opportunity for students to experience learning in ways that empower them to succeed.”

Snacks = Happy Students!
Funded Jan 24, 2024Thank you for making my students happy, they are definitely enjoying their snacks. Your generosity has allowed for my students to have food in the classroom available to them as they need. Unfortunately, they don't always like their school meals but knowing that they can come into my room and ask for a snack is comforting to them. I usually like to save the snacks with more sugar towards the end of the day, for when they need a little sugar rush to get them through the last period :). The hygiene products will be used daily, especially right before P.E when they have realized they've forgotten to use deodorant at home or in some cases, when they don't have these products at home. Thank you again for helping us out. My students and I appreciate you so much!”

Sprinkle Fun Into Science
Funded Nov 22, 2022Thank you again for your generosity. My students were thrilled to see how many science kits and projects we received. They helped me unboxed all of our packages and they were amazed by how many people were kind and generous enough to help pay for these fun activities that I get to incorporate in our science lessons. My 8th graders were finishing up our Magnetic Field unit and they were able to use the magnet project activities we received from Donors Choose. They enjoy the hands on activities, this kept them busy and experimenting for 3 days. The students could not get enough of how their knowledge of magnetic fields was being played out with the materials in the science project. My 7th graders are currently learning about hygiene in health class and they will use the DIY dinosaur soaps in the next week. They will learn about the importance of the products needed to stay clean and will learn how to make their own soon, through this donation to our classroom. Once again, thank you.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Walt Disney Company and 3 other donors.New Classroom, Who This?
Funded Apr 7, 2022Thank you for your donations once again. Our first day of school was an amazing day. The kids came in so the decorations we created with your donations. I try to keep a theme and this year we continued with our plant theme. The plant/cacti decorations provide a soothing environment, it helps grounds our students when they are having a tough day. Research has shown that a classroom that is warm and welcoming affects the students' learning. Our classroom looks beautiful with the cacti borders. The art supplies that was purchased through your donations has also created an opportunity for students to express themselves and add to our classroom décor. Thank you so much for your help!”

Tech Accessories Needed!
Funded Apr 10, 2022I can't express how much your donations have impacted our student learning and engagement in class. The students have access to a Chromebook but within Special Education, some of my students may have issues with motor skills that might prevent them from easily using the mouse pad on the computer. Having a wireless mouse and muse pad allow for easy use for all my students. My science classes use a district platform to complete assignments, learn new lessons and take assessments throughout the units. My students use the wireless mouse everyday to carry on with daily lesson and tasks at hand. I have noticed that it is also a time saver because those who lack motor skills can keep up with the rest of the class instead of trying to figure out how to manage the mouse on the computer. My students are sending you a big "THANK YOU".”

Classroom Dreams!
Funded Apr 13, 2021Thank you so much again for your generosity. My classroom has turned into a beautiful environment where my students can feel safe, comfortable, loved and encouraged to learn. The items that were bought with your donations have transformed our room which has allowed the learning process to become much easier for the kids. When a classroom is organized and esthetically pleasing, the environment produces a stress-free vibe. When students are relaxed, they are able to engage in the lessons so much better. I am happy to report that all my students have earned a passing grade in this first set of progress note. My students wanted me to thank you all for making their classroom look nice and organized.”

Chillin' With a Good Book!
Funded May 18, 2021I want to thank you all again for your generosity. Your donations have a created a beautiful place for my students to read a good book and chill. The books on the list of the project were chosen because they are of various reading levels which ensures that all students have access to books that are on the individual's independent reading level. The various books also represent our student population. My students see characters who look like them and live and similar neighborhoods like theirs, which is very important. Having these books will make a difference in my students academic success. They are all very grateful for your help.”
