  • Funding for CUNY Applications

    Funded Jun 21, 2007

I am writing to thank you for facilitating the entry to college for 15 of my students. It is extremely frustrating and upsetting for me to witness students pass up the opportunity for higher education simply because they do not have the $65 dollar application fee for CUNY. Brooklyn Academy is a transfer school which means that many of our students come in with low GPAs, and so their options in terms of colleges are limited. Their financial situations become yet another barrier in them moving forward.

I thank you once again. You have provided me with another chance to see my students' faces light up, which is always a pleasure.

    Thank you,

    Karina ”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. S.

  • Funding College Application Fees for Underprivileged Students

    Funded Apr 10, 2006

I am writing to let you know how significant your generosity is. My supervisors as well as myself are thrilled to be able to offer our students this opportunity. Students can now move on to the next step in their lives without delay. Because we are nearing the end of the term, I would like to wait for the beginning of the fall semester to send out applications of the students interested in starting college in the Spring of 2007. This is why I would like to wait till September to collect the feedback from the process. Once again, Brooklyn Academy HS thanks you for helping us make a difference.

  • Funding for College Applications

    Funded Jan 18, 2006

Hi, I just want to let you know how important this is to all of us here at Brooklyn Academy HS. I have been struggling for a long time in order to get my students through the college process, but the application fees have been a huge deterrant unfortunately. I can already see the smile on their faces when I tell some of them that they do not have to worry about the money order and we can send out their CUNY applications. I already have a small pile just waiting to be mailed out.

Once again, I thank you very much. What you have done makes a very big difference and we are all appreciative.
