Oh Where, Oh Where Have Our Supplies Gone
Funded Dec 20, 2022Thank you for restocking our classroom supplies. Because of your generosity, we have enough supplies to last until the end of the school year.
My students loved helping open all of the boxes with the materials you funded. It was like Christmas all over again. One of our favorite supplies is the 3 hole punch. We use this to help construct individualized visuals for each child and put them in a binder or on a lanyard.
We will be using these supplies to help strengthen fine motor skills, pre-readiness/academic skills, prosocial skills, and communication skills that are so vital at this time in their young lives.”

Funded Oct 18, 2022Thank you so much for providing a variety of mediums to help with my student's sensory needs. Because of your generosity, my students are able to interact with an assortment of textures in their daily environments. Most of my students will now interact and explore with the materials that you have purchased for our class, however, previously, they would not interact with the varieties of textures you have provided..
My students absolutely love exploring with the different textures of sand, slime, snow, play-dough, etc. They love trying to find objects hidden in a variety of textures to learn various concepts such as colors, shapes, their name, etc.
Before having all of these textures, my students would not interact or explore new mediums. Thanks to your donations, they now will interact with 80% more textures than before we received the materials.
Thank you again for supporting our classroom.”

Love of Books and Individualized Voices
Funded Sep 28, 2022Thank you so much for donating to our classroom grant, "Love of Books and Individualized Voices." Because of your generosity, I can now print, laminate, and bind our bi-weekly books. I can now print out pictures from the book and make a core board for the students to be able to communicate about our book. An example is when reading, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See," each child has picture symbols of the characters, colors, etc., so that they can answer questions and participate in small group or individually while reading our book.
The most exciting product that we got was a binding machine. This allows me to construct the books and visuals needed for learning in our classroom. My students love to watch me make their individualized book! Some also help by pulling the lever to prepare the pages for binding.
My students love when we start a new book! They each get their own adapted copy of our book and get very excited when they can participate in learning with their own adapted book.”

Funded Nov 29, 2016Thank you so much for your donations. The students love the stools and printer that you have provided for my classroom. The students love the ability to be able to move while they have to sit. During Morning Meeting we have three students who typically use the stools. One is a child with developmental delays, one is a child with Other Health Impairments, and one child is autistic. These students typically were redirected because they would leave their chairs at inappropriate times. Now that they have the stools, they remain with the class, sitting, and are able to move thanks to the use of the stools. The students also love the printer that you bought for them. They get to print out their stories and illustrate them. The first time that student S printed out her work, she jumped up and down and was so excited to see her work in print. She then illustrated her picture.
When my students first saw the boxes they were so excited. They wanted to know what was in the boxes so we opened them together. The students helped me put together the stools, and each student had to try them out. The students then opened the printer and were giddy. For the first time in their lives, they can write a story or a sentence and have it published. They love watching their work come out of the printer.
We will continue to use the stools to help the students that need to move be able to move. They can participate just like the other students but not be so restricted to sit in a chair. We will continue to use the printer to publish their work and bring joy to each and every child in this classroom. Thank you again for your donations!”
