Bells Will Be Ringing!
Funded Mar 21, 2019My students are simply loving their new handbell repertoire! Having new color-coded songbooks at our fingertips has really enhanced music class! When I showed them our new materials, they got very excited and told me they couldn't wait until they were skilled enough to play even the most challenging pieces. Some of my students had gotten bored of playing our older music and it has been a huge improvement to have these age appropriate new arrangements to work on.
Thank you so much to contributing to our program! These children love to play the bells!”

We Need A New Beat: Instruments for K-1st Grade Learners
Funded Dec 23, 2018Although our new instruments only arrived yesterday, already over 100 students have enjoyed playing with them. The enthusiasm my kindergarten and first grade students showed while trying out percussion instruments for the first time was incredibly infectious. As you can see from their photos, everyone had a great time.
It is so important that all students are engaged throughout the entire music class but it was so challenging to achieve this when students have to wait their turn to play. Now that we have a set of rhythm instruments with enough for even my largest classes, no one has to sit and wait. I can't wait for my students to continue to enjoy playing! Thank you so much!”

Music Makes Our World Go Round
Funded Jun 5, 2018Thank you so much for choosing to contribute to our music classroom! It has been amazing to start off the school year with a selection of new materials to help inspire and engage my classes.
The music based storybooks such as "Singing in the Rain"and "Imagine" have been a huge hit, particularly with our younger students. Many of my younger students were very excited to learn that if they pushed buttons on the pages of "My Mozart Music Book", they could actually hear recordings of five of Mozart's most famous pieces.
Thank you so much for supporting us. We truly appreciate it.”

Funded Dec 14, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donation to our fledgling strings program! My students were thrilled to get the new supplies to support their playing. Many of them remarked on how their violins were much more comfortable with the addition of their new chin rests!
The additional strings have been a huge game changer. Instruments that were unusable are now back in the hands of these budding musicians who are able to once again practice.
Thank you so much for choosing to give to our strings program. It has truly made an impact.”

Funded May 12, 2017My students have truly been loving the books and CDs that they've received due to your generosity. I frequently use these materials to begin my lessons, allowing the students to glimpse into another part of the world and how children their experience music. All of the books, from silly songs to beautiful orchestral stories, are appreciated by my students and they beg to hear them again and again.
Thank you for choosing to give to my music classroom. It has been so enriching to show a book like "The Jazz Fly" while playing the corresponding CD and have my students get a deeper sense of what jazz is. It's been so enjoyable to see my younger students laugh and sing along to books like "There Was A Shy Fellow Who Swallowed A Cello." Please know that these resources are a treasured part of our music library.”

Funded Feb 8, 2017Last week we finally performed our production of "Annie." It was an overwhelming success and made such an impact on our school and community. All of the students were so proud of their performances and are already asking me what play we will do next year! I know that being part of the cast and crew of "Annie" is a positive memory these students will cherish for years, hopefully inspiring them to continue to excel in the performing arts.
Thank you so much for your generous donation! Please feel free to check out some video clips of the show via our school website: http://www.nps.k12.nj.us/rdg/parents/annie/
Thanks again for your support! We couldn't have done it without you.”

Music Games For Our Music Brains
Funded Feb 15, 2017Although we only received these fun music based games yesterday, already dozens of children have enjoyed them! You can see from their smiling faces that they are really enjoying themselves, all while they are reinforcing their knowledge of the four instrument families. A number of students have asked me if we will get to use the games during their next music class--their enthusiasm is undeniable.
Thank you for choosing to donate to my music classroom. Using new materials is exciting for the students and for me as a teacher! We appreciate your generosity so very much.”

Method Books for New Flute Ensemble!
Funded Mar 30, 2016Thanks to your generosity, my fourth grade flute players are turning into phenomenal musicians! Even though they just started playing flutes in the beginning of September, they are already mastering the fundamentals, which is largely in part to our fabulous "Accent on Achievement" method books. These method books make it possible for my students to practice at home every day with helpful diagrams and visual aids. Each book also includes a practice chart in the back that the parents of my students sign each week to reinforce practicing at home using the book.
These method books are truly enhancing both teaching time during music class and rehearsal time at home. Beyond that, in a school where materials are often used for years beyond their life span, it has made my students excited to be the first flute players to use these books. Thank you so much for your kindness. It means the world to us.”

Do Re Mi: Chorus Needs Harmony (Workshop)
Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you so much for allowing my chorus students to do a choral harmony workshop! They had such a amazing time learning about harmonizing and vocal technique. It was a refreshing change for them to work with someone new and at the end of the workshop, they were all sounding great.
The highlight of the experience was definitely the performance at the conclusion of the workshop. Many of the parents were able to attend the school wide production and it gave the chorus students who were participating a real sense of accomplishment.
Once again, thank you for giving to our music program. Having a new teaching artist work with my student really enhanced their singing and brought a new excitement to our chorus.”

Music Materials Make Marvelous Musicians
Funded Sep 20, 2016Thank you so much for choosing to support my music classroom. As you can see from the photos of my third grade students working on music notation with the help of their new dry erase markers and erasers, the materials are already getting plenty of use! My students enthusiastically practiced different notes found in the treble clef with these new supplies which reinforced their previous music lessons in a hands on way.
The other materials are also coming in handy! The new pencils and pencil sharpener are already being used by chorus members to make notes on their scores and help them sing with greater accuracy. The ink has also been very useful, making it possible for me to print out copies of songs and practice charts.
Thank you for your generosity. These fundamental supplies are making the beginning of the school year go much more smoothly. Your donation made a difference!”
