  • iPads to Shine and Learn

    My students are truly enjoying using the iPads. Students are able to read different books by using certain apps. Students are also getting help with phonics and solving math problems. I have students who learn better and can understand what I'm teaching when they see it through technology. When I teach a new objective I also introduce it on the iPads. This is really helpful for my students because they are learning different ways. Not all students learn the same so I have to be able to reach all my students in different ways.

    I think the exciting thing about the iPads is that my students are excited about learning and engaged. So many of my students don't have access to technology at home so I try to make sure they have that in my class. Also they love the games where they are learning as well.

    Yes, they are anxious to use the iPads daily.”

  • Printing Brightens Learning!

    My students truly enjoy the wonderful things we have printed and the awesome activities we are doing in class. Students are able to read different books by printing them off different free kid websites. Students are also getting help with phonics and solving math problems with extra work I can print. I have students who learn better and can understand what I'm teaching when they see it through colorful print. Having access to a printer right away is very helpful because my students are responsible for tracking their data and can now print it out to place in their data folders.

    I think the most exciting thing about the printer is that my students are excited they too can use it to print out colorful and wonderful work. So many of my students don't have access to technology at home so I try to make sure they have that in my class.

In my First Grade classroom we do a lot of hands-on, independent learning workstations with interactive learning. With the iPads that I am requesting, my students will be ready to engage in hands- on learning using technology. When students are done working independently or in small groups they will rotate using the iPads. The iPads will help the students to learn and shine in different areas of learning. Students will be able to take what they been working on that day and then apply that on the iPads. This will stretch their learning and apply higher order thinking skills. My students love using technology. A lot of my students don't own a computer at home. With the iPads students will be able to get that extra instructional piece at school.
