This is one of the projects that I wrote for our eventual return to the regular classroom from distance learning, so we have not had an opportunity to make use of them yet. These magnifiers are considerably more useful than our regular magnifying glasses, and will help us out immensely when it comes to doing observations in our science classroom.
In particular, I am looking forward to using the magnifiers to enhance our observation skills while working on nature journaling. Nature journaling is a great way to combine science, writing, and artistic skills all in one. It also calming and builds a connection to the Earth.
I can't wait to get back into the classroom! Thanks again for your generosity!”

I can't tell you how much it means to myself and my students to have so many wonderful read-alouds to choose from for our STEAM classroom. I am really looking forward to implementing the lessons in the Eureka series with my students for many years to come. This series is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards and will help us to practice all of the aspects of the standards, in an engaging and fun way. While we may not be able to implement all of the lessons as written while we are learning virtually, we can still use the picture books to enhance our online learning experience!
Thanks again for your generosity and for sponsoring school projects.”

I cannot tell you how much this technology has made teaching easier for virtual learning! Having an additional laptop that is larger and easier to see than our district-provided laptop has been really helpful in this teaching environment. I can use both computers to make teaching through Zoom more efficient. The separate keyboard and mouse make my set up more ergonomic and safer for me to use. The headset has also been very beneficial for hearing my students, especially when there is background noise either on my end or on theirs.
Thank you to Sonic for sponsoring the Limeades for Learning each year, and San Diego Gas and Electric for their STEM project match that has helped to provide a better learning experience to my students.”

My new books are starting to come my way and I am super excited to implement them in our online learning, especially at the kindergarten through second grade level. My upper grade students will enjoy them also, but in particular the inspiration that they offer for learning science and engineering.
It has been a difficult several months trying to come up with projects and experiments that students can do at home to keep engaged and learning, while controlling for available supplies.
I really look forward to using this books for distance learning, but even more so for when we come back on site.
Thank you for your generosity!”

I am so excited to finally have these books! The project had to wait a while to implement because of our school shut down.
While the students are still virtual, I am able to come into my classroom for teaching. I have begun organizing all of the picture books into bundles for teaching. I still need to work out an order for teaching. I think that the picture books will be a really good tool for doing read-alouds both while virtual and also once we are back on-site. I will look forward to going beyond the read-aloud and into implementing science and engineering challenges in the classroom!
Thank you so much for funding this project! It will last me for years!”

I am so excited to be able to use the TeachersPayTeachers gift cards to fund some fantastic lessons for my STEAM Lab that fit into our new virtual platform - something that is new and uncharted territory for most teachers.
While the students are still virtual, I am able to come into my classroom for teaching. I was able to purchase some STEAM-based Read Aloud picture book lessons that will spark home-based projects and creativity. I will look forward to going beyond the read-aloud and into implementing science and engineering challenges in the classroom when we return to school!

I teach science to all grades, TK-5, at our small elementary school. The students come to the Science Lab once a week for 1 hour or more each visit. Our school has a wide range of students in its population. We serve neighborhood children, military families, and students from areas of higher poverty that ride the bus to our school by choice. We have many cultures represented on our campus, free and reduced lunch for a little over half of our population, and a strong military family representation. Many of our students have a parent deployed. While our elementary classrooms focus on all academic areas, including science, the Science Lab is dedicated to the enrichment and enjoyment of both science and engineering, and challenges students to be flexible and creative problem solvers.
