• Building Community with a Cricut Maker

  A Cricut Maker is a HUGE addition to the STEAM Lab! Thank you so much for your kind donation to help our need! We have many fantastic students and the Cricut Maker will help with organization, as well as in creating a bright and organized community. Students will also have the opportunity to design a variety of creations.

  Our STEAM Lab could not happen without the generous donations from community members like you! Without you, we would not have the ability to try on so many different and new tools.

• "I Am the Frozen One": Mini Fridge for Science

  This is a great addition to our science/STEAM Lab! I cannot tell you how much the access to temperature controlled materials will help with future science experiments. The fact that this refrigerator also has a separate freezer is so much more useful than the all-in-one model that we had before. Now we have plenty of room also for planning ahead and getting multiple sets ready and waiting as the different classes come in.

• More the Merrier: Adding in Another Table Group for Science

  I am so happy that we have been able to add in a new table group to our STEAM lab environment! With the move to a new classroom, we have a little more room to spread out and create smaller groups. I can tell that the students are much happier with the layout and the room we have for our community gatherings in the middle of the room. We have a lot more room for storage as well, so this has been mostly positive - even after the many days it took to move all of the equipment!!

• Back to School Storage Solutions

  Storage is always a major concern for a science and engineering classroom. There are so many different supplies needed, both small and large. Having moved to another classroom, my space has very different needs. In fact, it is a better suited for a more organized space, and these storage supplies will help with that organization.

  I will be able to re-box and re-label and spread out the supplies to make for much easier accessibility and easier location - which often was a challenge in my previous classroom.

• Noisy Neighbors: Help Us Keep the Sound Down

  Thank you SO much for helping my students have a quality classroom in which they are able to hear themselves but also limit the impact to our neighbors. The acoustics of our classroom will change thanks to the panel and now students are able to communicate, study, interact, make sound without having the fear of either making too much noise. It has been challenging going from an enclosed space to one that is open to other classrooms.

  It is an added bonus that this panel also makes it easy to hang up student work or charts.”

• I Am All Ears: Class Headphones

  I am so excited about receiving these headphones!! This will make it much easier to do some of our technology activities in the classroom, and keep the students focused. We often do video scavenger hunts or use coding websites that have sound effects and having the headphones will help to individualize the sound.

  We also sometimes create videos and the headphones will help with reducing sound interference from their neighbors.

• Life Aquatic: Ecosystem Exploration

  Students will be very excited over this new addition to our classroom! We have previously had different animals as part of our classroom environment in the past, but haven't had any in quite a while. The STEAM Lab is a good place for students to make observations about different plants and animals that they may not have an opportunity to observe at home.

  I plan on taking this tank and turning it into a "paludarium" (a vivarium that incorporates both terrestrial and aquatic life). This will be an ongoing and long-term project.

• State of the Art: Watercolors for STEAM

  Funded Apr 8, 2022

  These unique watercolor pen sets are great for our needs! This makes using watercolor paints a lot easier. My students LOVE new supplies and figuring out how to use them. These are a new type of brush, and we will have fun figuring out how to use them to the best of their ability, from transitional kindergarten to fifth grade. We can't wait to get started creating wonderful works of art. We will be able to enhance our STEAM-based activities with exploration in art.
