Currently, my department has one cart of laptops that is shared by almost twenty science teachers. My hope is to have technology in my classroom so that my students can interact with it on an almost daily basis. Our curriculum is driven by the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which asks us to train our students to think like scientists and engineers. In the real world, scientists and engineers have access to almost unlimited access to online resources, and I hope to provide the same for the students in my classroom. The first step will be to furnish my classroom with enough chromebooks for my students to share. By connecting with technology, my students will be able to explore simulations that allow them to visualize the atom in three dimensions, create displays of the data they collect in class, research solutions to real-world problems, and so much more. We expect modern students to be technologically proficient, but many of my students do not have access to technology beyond a cell phone at home. I need your help so that I can give my students daily exposure to technology and help them learn to interact with it so that they can grow as learners and communicators! I appreciate your support, and so will my students!
