  • Ready, Set, Read!

    Funded Jul 29, 2021

Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom project! My students and I were very excited to receive the materials for our sound wall.

The sound wall has been a great resource for students as they are learning proper sound articulation as well as reading and writing. We use the sound wall throughout the day especially during phonics when we refer to it to review all of the sounds students know. Students also use the sound wall during writing to help them write the sounds they hear.

Thank you again for your generosity!”

  • Having Fun in Kindergarten!

    Funded Sep 26, 2017

Thank you so much for choosing to support our classroom! My students have loved the new materials funded by this project.

When they first saw the materials, they were so excited to start playing with them! I unpacked the materials over my planning time and kids started using them by the end of the day. A big hit has been the ice cream scoop counting trays. They were a great tool (especially at the beginning of the year) to help build number sense in a hands-on way that kids can relate to.

Again, thank you all for choosing to support our classroom! We appreciate you.”

  • Discovering in Kindergarten! Non-Fiction Text

    Funded Oct 19, 2017

Thank you for contributing to our class project! We have loved reading our new non-fiction books.

We have been reading them the most during Discovery reading. During this time students choose a non-fiction text to discover about a topic. The kids love it and so do I! Discovery reading provides students with a lot of choices which increases their engagement. It is so fun to see kids so excited about reading. The books from this project have opened up more topics for kids to explore.

Thank you again for your generosity!”

  • Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs

    Funded Aug 12, 2017

We love our Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs! The kids were excited to start using the tubs as soon as they saw them.

We have been using them during phonics and guided reading to work on first sound fluency as well as letter identification. We also use the tubs to introduce our letters of the week and sort by sound.

The kids love exploring the tubs, and I love it too because it is hands-on learning. Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! We really appreciate your generosity.”

  • Wiggle While They Work

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom project, Wiggle While They Work! The wobble stools arrived after school on Friday, and I put them together so that they would be ready for the kids to use this morning. The kids absolutely LOVE their new wobble stools and were so excited to see they were in our room this morning! We have used the stools during breakfast (they had to try them out while they were eating), reading centers, and writing so far today. Up next is math centers! I cannot tell you all how much it means to me that you donated to our project. THANK YOU!!”

I am excited to meet my incoming class of approximately 25 kindergartners this Fall. They will attend school in a large school district outside of Denver, Colorado. It is a Title I school which means that there is a high percentage of students from low-income families. There are about 600 students in the kindergarten through 8th grade building, and over 85% of the elementary school children qualify for free/reduced lunch.
