  • Literacy Centers in Ms. Qureshi's Class!

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

We are OBSESSED with our literacy centers in class 102! Students are able to use these centers independently during morning work, centers, and literacy time.

I have been able to support students with targeted and skills based lessons using these centers! Some students have even declared which games are their favorite.

Both my coteacher and I use these literacy games daily in our planning and teaching. We have also been able to share these games with other classrooms and students. Your donations have created a classroom with a "game for everything" or so it feels. By doing so, we are able to provided both guided and independent practice daily.”

  • Keeping It Organized in First!

    Funded Aug 2, 2021

Your donations to class 102 have been a key proponent in our classroom each day! With your help, we have been able to provide students in our class with the structures for a successful day, each day. I am in shock to see how much these supplies have become necessities in our daily routine. I appreciate your kindness, especially during these times, to support our classroom family. I cannot imagine a time without these materials.

Each day, we are able to use the classroom rug, stools, and organizers in whole group and small group instruction. My favorite parts of each day include seeing students independently choose to make this classroom their own space!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Qureshi

  • Writing Tools in Kindergarten

    Funded Oct 28, 2020

It is with a humble heart I am able to report the impact YOUR donations have made in our virtual classroom.

With the notebooks, whiteboards, markers, and your support, we are able to work on our ELA and Math work seamlessly. I was able to acquire enough notebooks for each subject for each student! We love taking out our notebooks and working together to write sight words. We also enjoy using our notebooks to draw, and label, our writing stories!

I cannot imagine a class without these supplies, and your efforts have allowed us to reach more of our potential as a class. I appreciate your time, your faith in me as an educator, and your kindness.”

  • Reading Tools in Ms. Qureshi's Reading Room

    Funded Jan 30, 2019

It is with immense gratitude that I report how much of an impact these resources have made on students I work with. I have been able to incorporate sight words in small group intervention and as a visual aid for my whole Group writing work! I am so happy to announce that students have been able to use these tools on their own, engaging in their classwork, and achieving academic independence that I strive to implement. Student confidence, alongside ample resources, have also made this latter portion of the year a fruitful one!

I am excited to continue use of these literacy games to help our students!”

We are so pleased to report these tools help us create an engaging community environment. • Shaking Our Sillies Away: OT Tools For Student Engagement.

    Funded Feb 6, 2018

We did it! With your help our students have seen a tremendous impact in their motivation to learn and proceed with the challenging curriculum of Kindergarten.

We were so excited to return from break and unpack all of our materials! We made an anchor chart to describe and name each tool. Arelis and I then taught management ways for us to share the materials with everyone.

We love how some friends feel comfort when laying on their belly as I read a special book of the week! Additionally, it helps our students feel confident when they are working.

Our fave? The wiggle chairs! We can twist as we think of special topics to write about. Students can even twist while they search for new words on our word wall!

We have been able to teach into the uses of each tool that was funded. We are halfway there to having a fully flexible classroom. Just like our students' individual needs, these tools have helped us create academic stations that students can choose from.

Thank you for believing in us!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Qureshi

  • Keeping Track in KG

    Funded Jan 28, 2017

It is with immense gratitude that I am writing this letter! We are over the moon about our new tools that help us track our time. We have used the yacker tracker to help us use inside voices during social and academic times. Our time tracker has helped us learn to manage how we use our time during writing and math exercises! Additionally, the use of an auditory/visual learning system has helped our diverse learners feel welcome to manage their time and volume! We are working to foster student independence that will translate into skills outside of the classroom. We are taking special care of our new tools!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Qureshi

I teach in an ICT classroom setting at an inner city school. Our class is very diverse ethnically, religiously, and economically. Our daily grind consists of challenging ourselves to be the best we can be. Our classroom is a space where mistakes are celebrated, as they are opportunities for growth. We work to provide social, emotional, and academic stimuli that engage students of diverse learning preferences. With 25 personalities, there is a lot to consider as we strive to foster student growth. My co-teacher and I ensure that we always provide lessons that are both hands-on and interactive. Thus, we have activities that allow our students to be engaged and delve into their newly found interests . Sometimes, we just need the boost to help us see our potential!
