  • Reading Is Fundamental

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

It is essential to communicate to our generous donors the significant impact their contributions of magnetic sight words have had on our students' learning experiences. These resources have not only enriched the classroom environment but have also provided an interactive and engaging way for students to develop their literacy skills. The use of magnetic sight words has facilitated hands-on learning, allowing students to manipulate the words physically, which enhances their understanding and retention of vocabulary.

The introduction of magnetic sight words into our curriculum has transformed the way students approach reading and writing. By utilizing these tools, students are able to visualize and experiment with word formation, which fosters a deeper comprehension of language structure. This innovative approach has proven particularly beneficial for young learners, as it caters to various learning styles and encourages collaboration among peers during literacy activities.

Furthermore, the positive outcomes of incorporating magnetic sight words extend beyond mere academic achievement; they also contribute to building students' confidence in their reading abilities. As students engage with these resources, they experience a sense of accomplishment when they successfully identify and use sight words in their reading and writing tasks. This newfound confidence not only motivates them to participate more actively in class but also instills a lifelong love for learning, making the contributions of our donors invaluable to our educational mission.”

  • Class Resources

    Funded Mar 13, 2022

Thank you for your donation toward making my classroom more inviting for students. I want all students to feel welcome and comfortable in their learning environment. School is not in session so students have not seen our new materials. I am in the process of setting up my classroom to welcome them back soon.

We are thankful to all the donors who have made contributions towards the development of our school. Your act of kindness will help to brighten the future of these children. Once again, thank you so much. We are glad to be associated with you.”

  • Book Making

    Funded Sep 10, 2019

Thank you for your generous donation. We have received the materials and will be starting to make books soon. I will wait to post the pictures until we start making the books so you can see the materials being used. My students are excited to see how the book binding turns out. They have seen the old fashioned kind with the spiral binding on the side, but are interested to see how the machine will bind their pages together only using a plastic sleeve.

Thank you for contributing to our classroom, you are greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Westover

  • Writing/Drawing Supplies

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

Hello and thank you for your kind donation. My students absolutely love their new supplies. They are constantly asking me to plan activities that will involve using the new colored pencils and markers. They are especially excited about having markers and colored pencils that are multicultural and represent different skin tones.

We do an activity where I read aloud a picture book without showing the pictures. I pause after each page so students have time to visualize the story and draw what they picture in their mind. They have been using the colored pencils to make their drawings align with their visualizations.”

    With gratitude,

I am so excited to say that our school is moving to flexible seating next year! Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed. Traditional desks can make students territorial or possessive over their space and supplies. Flexible seating encourages students to share both. And, it encourages them to take turns in different locations and with different seating options. With that being said, I do want my students to have a place to keep their materials that would traditionally stay in their desk. That is why I am requesting these storage clipboards. Students can sit anywhere in the room and use the clipboard as their desk. They can keep their pencils, glue, scissors, etc... inside the clipboard so it moves around the room with them.
