Tiger Diner
Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you so much for helping fund my Tiger Diner project! I can’t wait to open the diner for a hands-on, real life experience for my 5th grade students. Through your donations, my students will get to participate in an activity they will remember for a lifetime! Thank you!”

Funded Mar 2, 2020Thank you so much for the opportunity to take the Conscious Discipline course and purchase the accompanying book! This project was very timely with the hit of COVID-19.
I never dreamed when I requested funding for this project school would become virtual and students would remain home for 6 months. Some of our students have had a hard time during this and what I have learned has already helped me as a teacher.
When dealing with discipline issues, I'm reminded students act a certain way because they have bigger issues going on in their lives. I now question them and discuss their behaviors without jumping to negative consequences. Many of our students experience some type of trauma at home. I have chosen to make my classroom a safe place for them to come and enjoy being a kid.”

Funded Mar 9, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! My students were beyond thrilled to open up the building blocks and bases. :).
In the pictures shown, students pretended to work for a toy packaging company. They created a toy (using the blocks) and then had to find the volume of the box that would be needed to ship the toy to its new home. The students loved it! They thought they were playing, when in fact, they were doing math!
I have also used the blocks to teach multiplication and fractions to my students. Most recently, my students used the blocks on the first day of school to build something that represented them. This was a great ice breaker which allowed students to learn more about their new classmates.
Once again I thank you for your donation. The blocks will be used for many years to come!”

Learning Math with Osmo
Funded Aug 15, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. With my Donor's Choose project, our classroom now has an Osmo kit which allows students to practice their math skills in a fun and exciting way!
I have used the Osmo games in stations with small groups of students. I have found my special education students are the ones who seem to enjoy it most. It allows them to practice their basic skills, but in an encouraging fashion. The characters on the screen assist students when needed, and they celebrate with them when they get a question correct.
Whenever the Osmo is out, I find students excited about using it! They absolutely love it! The Osmo has definitely been a hit in my classroom!”
