The Battleship IOWA Museum is a real life battleship from World War II that provides interactive tours that teaches STEM concepts through a historical lens. Students seeking to attend, are 8th graders studying how US History has had a global impact worldwide. This experience will enrich their understanding of the ways in which Allies defeated the Nazis in WW II while providing them a unique opportunity to engage in team building activities that are STEM related. Amongst them are learning about water displacement/ buoyancy through the building of a small projectile. Students who attend this field trip will draw a real life connection to history and have them feel integrated into the mainstream culture.
