  • Getting Comfy And Cozy In The Reading Nook

    Funded Dec 31, 2016

Thank you all so much for the very generous donations that you all made. Your donations helped Team 16 obtain two wonderful, comfy and cozy couches for the classroom. The couches have made the students' learning experiences so much more than one could imagine. I mean, who doesn't like to be comfortable?? I know for my kiddos, the more movement and ability to choose where they are more comfortable to learn, the better the output. Your donations have positively impacted not just the current students in Team 16, but also the many other students through out the years to come. THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lesage

  • Organizing Pockets: Decluttered minds, are learning minds

    Funded Mar 18, 2016

    Dear Donors,

I wanted to reach out to you and personally thank each and everyone of you for your very generous donations to team 16. This project really helped my students to organize their materials and keep everything that they need right at their fingertips.

After getting the new round tables for the classroom, I thought it would be important for the students to be able to keep their things close enough so that their learning would not be interrupted if they needed a tool or folder for the lesson. They now have a space to call their own thanks to wonderful people like each and every one of you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lesage

  • Classroom Collaboration: New Desks

    Funded Mar 8, 2016

    Dear Donors

I first want to thank you all so much for your generosity. Your donations helped complete the order for new round tables for our classroom.

Before the new tables, the classroom was very cluttered and hard to move around in. We do a lot of small group instruction and math rotation centers, so there was a lack of ease in movement for the students and myself.

When the tables first arrived, the students were over the moon excited! They could not wait to get them in the classroom and see where they were going to sit. When I had explained to the class that they had arrived, they had a look of amazement on their faces and shock that they had finally arrived. When the realization settled in, they were jumping out of their seats and shouting to their friends.

When the tables first were brought into the classroom the kids were beyond thrilled. They could not wait to see where they were going to sit. Once actually at their new tables, they were clearly amazed by the tables. The majority of the kids were rubbing their hands on the tops of the tables and expressing how awesome they were.

I, of course, was just basking in the excitement of the students. Their joy and pure happiness over the tables filled me with happiness and excitement.

The change in the classroom happened immediately! Suddenly there was more than enough room for all to move around and rotate through centers. Teachers and administrators kept poking their hands in the room to admire the new tables. The principal actually came in and jumped around in the new open space and did a little dance.

As you can see, your donations helped to make a lot of people happy! I can't thank you all enough for what you have done to help.

Be on the lookout as the new school year begins for new projects for Team 16!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lesage

I am a third grade teacher, with 26 amazing children. We are in an inclusion environment, with regular education students and students on Individual Educational Plans. Our day is filled with engaging lessons that require collaboration with one another. We have a great community of learners. My students are enthusiastic about learning and sharing their learning with others. They also know that in our classroom, it is okay to stumble and make mistakes as long as you try your best. Our school is a great community that fosters the love of learning and respect of individuality. This is true not only for the students of the school, but also the educators. The administration is very supportive and welcomes passion and creativity within the classroom. Parents are very involved in the school community, as well. They are a very important part of the school and students' learning. "It takes a village," and parents are a critical piece to the puzzle.
