  • iPads for Instruction!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Having 2 iPads donated to my classroom by you awesome donors has truly had such a positive impact on my students and how they learn. By having these iPads to use, my students are exposed to such wonderful applications in which they can enhance their learning. They also LOVE earning "free" time on the iPad for a well-deserved break. I also have two non-verbal students who are able to talk because of the gift of the iPads. My class and I cannot thank you for your generosity that will be felt for years to come!”

  • We Got the iPads, Now Help Us Protect Them!

    Funded Mar 30, 2018

The new iPads that have been purchased for my classroom by such generous donors is greatly affecting the way my students learn. They use them every day to access a variety of applications that open up their minds to more and more learning. I also have two non-verbal students who use them as their voice. It is so nice to see the generosity shine through my students, and now we have the means to protect the iPads as well so that they will be able to be used for years to come. My students and I Thank you donors from the bottom of our heart!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lees

  • We LOVE Learning through Music!

    Funded May 9, 2018

My students are utilizing our new resources by using the instruments as a therapeutic experience singing and playing along to specially designed music for students with Autism.

My students were so excited when they witnessed two large boxes being delivered to the classroom. The suspense was getting them excited as we opened up the boxes together to reveal what was inside. They were used to most of the instruments we received as we have music therapy using them. Being as this is a grant for this year, I feared that we would not have it next year, and they really enjoy it, so I decided to ask for donations on DonorsChoose.

As I sit here and write this, they are enjoying some time on the rug singing and playing along to the songs.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lees

  • My Awesome Students with Autism need your Amazing Support!

    Funded Dec 14, 2017

My students love all the new resources we have be blessed with. They use them on a daily basis during our center time depending on what we are working on that day. Monday we do money, Tuesday we do time, and so forth. Each file folder game has varying levels for their differing abilities and they really enjoy working with them. I have a student who is non verbal so I specifically asked for the counting cars and sort-a-bug for him. He loves playing with both of those all while learning.

When we first received the big box of materials, my students were super excited to see what was inside and couldn't wait to play (or learn) with all of it. Telly Time was a big hit and something we were able to work with right off the bat. They really enjoy everything.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lees

My awesome students deserve a quality education and with your help I will be able to give it to them. I am a first year teacher and when I came into my classroom my resources were extremely limited. The items I have chosen will greatly increase their ability to complete daily work. With your support, my students will be able to soar and accomplish great things! I have six students with varying ability levels. In order to individualize their instruction, many different interventions and learning materials are needed. The materials I have chosen will each be used for different areas of learning for my students. I do not have any math resources or manipulatives so the math folder games will be used to follow up on what each student is working on based on their IEPs. They are struggling with telling time, so I thought having a fun interactive clock will increase their interest and help them grasp the concept. The printing book will assist my non-verbal student as he learns to write. I recently discovered that he can trace his name and I am SO excited!! So, of course, I want to push him to trace more! and he will be on the road to writing on his own in no time! The above mentioned items and their uses are just a few examples of how your support will greatly assist my students in a variety of different ways.
