Be Brilliant With Board Games
Funded Mar 28, 2023I want to thank you for your kind generosity to my classroom and students. When the materials arrived at the school I was just as excited as the students! We spent the end of last year learning the games and putting them to great use. My students, kindergarten through sixth grade, have thoroughly enjoy playing them and learning not only team building skills, but also vocabulary and speaking skills.
My fifth graders really enjoy playing 'Blurt'. The game encourages them to think deeper for specific vocabulary in order to answer the questions. It was smiles all around watching them play. One of my kindergarten students has used the 'Bananagrams' to learn the alphabet, while others use them to create CVC words. I look forward to utilizing the games again this year with my students. I anticipate lots of laughs, learning and language!”

Flexible Seating for Flexible Minds!
Funded May 20, 2020Thank you for your generous donation to my project. With your support I was able to buy two floor chairs for my classroom. Due to COVID restrictions I have not been able to utilize these as I intended to, but look forward to when my students can use them at daily reading centers.
Some of my students have been able to use them during bus wait as a place to relax and stay socially distanced. They have practiced reading books while seated comfortably. They have really enjoyed them and find them quite comfortable. It is my hope to purchase more of these chairs in the future. Thank you again for your support.”

Everything is Awesome!: Writing with Legos
Funded Mar 27, 2018I would like to thank each of you for donating to my project 'Everything is Awesome!: Writing with Lego's'. The children were thrilled when the boxes arrived and they got to open them. They all wanted to get started writing! Having Lego's available for the students to create a setting for a story was just amazing to watch. Each child carefully selected which Lego's to use, how their story could come to life, modifications they needed to make, and how to problem solve when someone else was using a piece they really wanted. When it was time to write, the students had a visual model of what they were trying to put into words. They noticed details they could write about , how their story could unfold, and exactly what it would look like to a reader. The kids had more fun writing then they ever had before! When their stories were complete, they could not wait to start again! Again, thank you so much for helping these struggling readers and writers feel accomplished!”

Funded Dec 5, 2017I want to thank you all for bringing the joy of reading to my students. With the books that you helped to purchase, my students are enjoying reading and taking many Accelerated Reading quizzes. They have definitely caught the 'reading bug'!
The students in my class love to read independently, as well as, with a partner. They read for at least 20 minutes each school day and have begun recommending books to their classmates. With each book they read they get to add a star to their reading log. Most students have met or exceeded their goal since receiving the donations! One particular student who has not met their goal all year has read eighteen books and continues to be excited about meeting his future goal. Another student loves to read about chickens and now looks for other titles in our school library.
Again, thank you for your generosity! Without your support our classroom library would not be growing and my students would not be enjoying their current successes.”
