Classroom Storage!
Funded Mar 29, 2017Thank you all so much for your kindness and generous contributions! My students and I could not be happier after receiving these much needed supplies.
These new additions to my classroom have been amazing! My classroom is much more organized thanks to the storage carts. The carts help me to store different centers and materials my students need throughout the day, so our classroom runs much more smoothly! The white boards have been a great tool to use for quick checks. I can now quickly assess the class and see what students may need extra attention.
I want to thank you again for these valuable classroom resources! They will be used for the years to come!”
With gratitude,

Funded Nov 30, 2016Let me begin by telling you how THRILLED my first graders were to learn that people, who they didn't even know, donated money so that they can use iPads in the classroom. The pure joy in all of their faces is something I will never forget. Since many of my students have never seen or interacted with an iPad in person, they couldn't wait to explore the different learning apps and use them.
The iPads have become such a valuable tool in my classroom. Since all of my students are on different levels, the apps I have downloaded allow me to target each child's specific need. Whether it be phonics, math, reading, or writing, my students are able to practice what they need in a more hands on and interactive way. The fact that the iPads allow you to see, hear, and touch have truly helped my English language learners grasp critical literacy and math skills.
The iPads that you have donated will be used for years to come. Thank you for providing me with this extra tool I can use to help my students.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.”

Ms. Gurba
Learning in Literacy
Funded Jan 30, 2015Thank you all so much for making this project, Learning in Literacy, a reality. My students and I are extremely grateful knowing there are so many people out there that care about us.
I cannot begin to describe the true impact this project has had on my classroom. Since receiving the materials, I have been able to tutor my students in the mornings before school. Every morning, I work with a small group of students to focus on important skills such as fluency, comprehension, and word recognition. Depending on what each group needs, I am able to use the various resources I requested (guided reading books, poems, and response activities) to target the skills they need to be successful readers.
After using these materials for the last month, I am in awe of all the progress my students have made. Students are now able to recognize more sight words, decode new words, and read 3-4 levels higher than they used to.
As an educator, there is nothing more gratifying than seeing your students succeed. With your donations, I have been able to bring my students closer to where they need to be. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

Paper, Paper Anywhere?
Funded Dec 9, 2014Thank you all so much for your kindness and generous contributions! My students and I could not be happier after receiving this much needed supply of paper.
When I first told my students about this campaign and how quickly it was funded (less than 24 hours), they were amazed. My students were so excited about the chance to complete more activities that could be hung up around the classroom or sent home. Now, my students always jump at the chance to ask "Do we get to write on the fancy paper?"
My students and I began using this supply of paper as soon as we received it. With this new supply of paper, I have been able to create differentiated material and activities that address the specific needs of each child in my class. Also, I have been able to send home more resources to parents as they assist their children with their learning.
This project has had a huge impact on my classroom. Not only has it provided me with a resource I could use to better my students' education, but it has given me the platform to teach them about determination. I now tell my students "If you are passionate or really interested in something, never give up. If you put together a plan like Ms. O'Hara did, anything is possible"
Thank you again for supporting my students in their educational journey.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gurba
