My class is full of 25 energetic 9 and 10 year olds. Each has their own story and background. They are so diverse, yet compliment each other. Some are non-readers, others can read most anything you hand them. Math concepts are very understandable for most, while a few struggle to grasp new material. My job is to teach them the skills they need to become successful at whatever their dreams are leading them toward. They participate in collaborative groups, learning to work together to meet a goal, as well as, work quietly and independently to finish their tasks. To support their physical health, we enjoy PE time 3x per week. This is a great time for them to learn about their abilities as well as the importance of teamwork. We look forward to enhancing our lessons activities with the completion of our Donorschoose projects.
