  • Classroom Essentials

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

l would like to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of snacks for my students.

Your kindness has made a tremendous impact on our classroom. These snacks have filled hungry tummies and created an environment where students can focus better, stay energized, and engage more fully in their learning. For many of my students, these snacks are a source of comfort and a reminder that their well-being matters to others beyond our classroom walls.

Again, thank you for your generosity and being such a positive force in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Duncan-Mora

  • Celebrate With Flair

    Funded Jan 9, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation to our flair pens project. It was greatly appreciated, and my students enjoyed writing with them.

When they received their pens, they were so excited! My students were so happy to have their own and not to have to share it with five other students when it was time to write in our writer's notebook. Now, they take their time, and their writing has improved so much. I also see that they take their time and really make changes. They also noticed that the pens have different smells and that was a nice touch!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Duncan-Mora

  • Life is Better is Color

    Funded Jan 20, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation to our project! The printer is such a small thing, but we only have black-and-white photos, so having a color printer is a hit in my classroom.

Now, we print our papers in color, and it makes such a difference when learning. When the color paper is projected on the smartboard, students now have it in front of them. It makes it easier for them to identify objects in color.

All my students are engaged with having a printer in our classroom. Before, they would have to wait for me to go to Staples, now we don't have to wait, and that is a relief”

    With gratitude,

  • Prioritizing Food Education

    Funded Oct 26, 2023

I appreciate your help with this project. My students had a fabulous time learning about the importance of food education. They had an amazing time cooking with my students and learning their way around the ins and outs of cooking.

When my students saw the aprons they was beyond excited. We had their names placed on their aprons, just like chefs.

They had a blast using the kitchen supplies to cut and grate up the food. Then we used the cooking supplies to make mac and cheese and enter a competition.

Our next steps are to hold a workshop with their parents and let their parents see their children enjoying themselves.

    Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Duncan-Mora

  • BrainFuel Bites: Energizing Snacks for Student Success!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

I am sending our deepest gratitude for your generous donation towards our Brainfuel Bites: Energizing snacks for student success project. Your support is instrumental in making a positive impact on the lives of my students. We use the snacks when students are tired and cannot focus. We also use the snacks for our publishing parties. We celebrate their writing accomplishments and then serve snacks for their hard work toward meeting their goals.

My student's eyes lit up with excitement when they saw the food and how many choices they had to select from the treat box.

Our next steps are to continue to celebrate their accomplishment when they have completed a writing task.

Once again, thank you for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Duncan-Mora

  • From Garden to Table: Teaching Nutrition and Cooking Skills

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

We are deeply grateful for your generous donation towards our nutrition project. Your support is instrumental in making a positive impact on the lives of so many students. It's heartening to know that there are individuals like you who believe in the power of community and are willing to invest in initiatives that create lasting change in the lives of NYC students.

We used our new culinary skills to enter a mac and cheese competition, where we did not place, but my students had a great time making the mac and cheese.

We also created a recipe for chocolate pudding, but we turned it healthy by using an avocado.

Once again, thank you for your generosity.”

  • Revolutionize Learning: Unleashing the Power of Flexible Seating

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

My students absolutely love the flexible seating! We use our flexible seating during guided reading time, independent reading time, and when working with partners. We now take turns using the seats in the classroom.

The students were surprised to say the least. Everyone crowded around them wanting a chance to sit down. I noticed that it definitely helps with concentration. My students are more focused and eager to learn during all lessons.

Here's a peeks inside my classroom! My students have recently been taking cooking lessons! The goal is prioritizing food education for my students.”

I wanted to extend my sincerest gratitude for your generous donation, which provided cameras for my students. Your support has brought immense joy and excitement to our educational journey, and I want to share just how meaningful and transformative your gift is.

The cameras you've provided are not just tools; they are windows to creativity, exploration, and self-expression for our students. Your donation has opened up a world of possibilities and learning experiences for them, and it's genuinely exciting to witness their enthusiasm.

Your support has given them access to instant cameras and unlocked a world of learning and creativity.”

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

We are grateful for your generous donation. Your support means the world to us, and we are truly thankful for your kindness and generosity.

Thanks to your thoughtful contribution, our classroom has the necessary resources to enhance our learning experience. Your donation has allowed us to acquire an awesome rug for our indoor garden room, undoubtedly enriching our education and enabling us to explore new horizons.

My students were in disbelief that individuals cared enough about them to gift us a carpet to sit down and finish our work while in the classroom.”

I love teaching my thirty New York City public school students. The children have been really good at keeping socially distanced, but they need to move throughout the day. A challenge to movement is that space is extremely limited. By having these seat cushions that can be placed on chairs, students can wiggle and move but still be able to focus during the class day. As they sit on these inflatable discs, the cushions will also allow students to improve their posture, balance, and core strength. The discs also have a calming effect , increase concentration, and will help to improve class behavior as students have the freedom of movement in their seats.
