Dry erase boards are essential for our math class. We have used protective sheets in the past and really would benefit by having sturdier boards. These boards would be used daily in class for students to share their responses individually when working on math equations. They would also be used in groups. For example, a group assignment may be to write a given number in word form, standard form, expanded form, and unit form. Each person from the group would have a different response on their board, but they all would come together as a team with the various forms of the number. Dry erase boards are also great for small group instruction as we constantly review examples of a skill without wasting sheets of paper. The examples are easily written and erased to provide additional practice. By having magnetic boards, we are also able to apply manipulatives to the boards and not worry about pieces falling or missing. We would love to have boards in our class that will last for years to come and provide opportunities for individualized responses!
