  • My Guided Reading Groups Need a Whiteboard Too!

    Wow! Thank you so much for your generous contributions. Thanks to you, my small group reading instruction came to life since I am now able to write larger and more legibly, and students are able to come up and participate in the specialized lesson.

    My students were so excited to get to use the new board! They love how it is dual sided so I can save what we worked on for the next day, and flip the board over for use on the other side. They also love writing on it, and feel special when they use it.

    Many of these students are far behind in their reading. Your generous contributions truly are making a difference in the literacy and lives of my students. Although this school year is coming to a close, I look forward to being able to use this valuable resource again and again as the years go on.

  • The Lights are On... But No One Can See!

    The impact of the new projector has already been substantial in my 4th grade classroom! This would not have been possible without your generous contributions.

    In my classroom, we use our projector in almost every single lesson on a daily basis. With it, I can project under a document camera to model handwritten work, and project from a chromebook or tablet to show online games or Google Slides based lessons. Since we project directly on the board, students can come up and write directly on top of projections for grammar and math lessons. Now that we can see what is being projected, lessons are much more engaging and meaningful to students! Additionally, precious instructional minutes are saved since this projector does not overheat or turn off.

    My students are excited to be able to see a much clearer, brighter, and larger projection of their daily lessons! I have noticed a huge rise in student engagement since this wonderful piece of technology entered our class.

    The new projector has made my life easier as a teacher so that I can focus on instruction, and has made my students' school experience more vivid and thus has inspired them to participate.

My students need a reliable piece of technology to project lessons for them that they can actually see. Our current projector's images cannot be seen unless the lights are turned off, but then my students cannot write or type to complete their assignments. Our current projector also shuts off unexpectedly, overheats, and sometimes takes several minutes to turn on and display an image. With a new projector, students would able to safely and accurately write or type to complete lessons, as well as save precious instructional minutes since we would not have to deal with unreliable technology on a daily basis. Lessons with incorporated technology engage my students, as well as prepare them to be citizens of an ever changing society. Many of the students in my class have beautiful ambitions that they will need computer literacy skills to aid them in achieving. It is very hard for me to incorporate use of Chromebooks into their lessons in an efficient and effective way with our current projector, and yet computer literacy is a crucial life skill that these students need for their adult lives. Skills such as computer literacy are what will help my students better their futures, as it will make them more career ready. It is my dream to give these kids every opportunity to better their lives and achieve their dreams, and receiving a new projector would play a key role in helping me accomplish that goal.
