  • Light Table for Little Learners

    Funded Sep 15, 2023

The generous donations have helped my classroom greatly! The new LED Tablet table, has allowed my students to explore light through different objects on a table they can easily operate themselves. The LED Tablet table, has sparked so much interest in the area to my students, they love using it to explore and create objects through light. The LED Tablet allowed students to work together using the translucent magnet blocks with them and solve problem on how to build upon the table.

The numeral counting gears as well, has aiding in guiding the students' fine motor and number recognition skills.

All of these items have been greatly appreciate and have been well loved by my students already!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bolcar

  • Magnetic Forces!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

This is slightly over due, but my students this year loved all of the items from the project. With our new magnetic board these items were able to enhance their learning and problem solving skills using the boars. The gears and tubes were so engaging to all of the students when coming to play on the magnetic design center. Students were able to work together or alone using these items. I am so impressed with the skills this items targeted and I am so grateful to all who donated. Thank you all again for the generous donations.”

    With gratitude,

  • Little Learners Using Loose Parts and Ephemeral Art!

    Funded Dec 29, 2021

Thank you all so much for donating and supporting this project! I am thrilled to say the students in my classroom are loving all of the new materials and have begun using and exploring them. With the different rattan dividers, I have been able to sort and organize my loose materials in a captivating way to draw students into the area. Students have loved using the shatterproof mirrors as reflectors and as a base while they are creating in a way to see their creations in a new perspective. All of these materials as a whole have brought so much engagement in my loose parts and ephemeral art exploration in my classroom. My students and I thank all of the donors for their gracious contribution!”

  • Coding Into The Future!

    Funded Apr 26, 2019

A little late, but still so appreciative to all the generous donors who helped me reach this goal. My students last year absolutely loved these items, especially the Code-a-pillar (We named him Codey) and the coding mouse. I was able to incorporate these toys into my lessons, as a whole group and small group with the students to show them how to plan and code the directions for the toy. The 3 little pigs game, was also another favorite! The students were able to work in teams to create the best house for the pigs that would not get blown down by the big bad wolf! The students also loved using the chain reaction game, this one was a little tricky for them and myself as well, but together we were able to figure it out to create the chain reaction! I am so glad these items and more were able to be used in my classroom and with such an amazing group of students. I cannot wait to share these items with my class this year and keep the coding and learning going! Thank you all so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bolcar

I was inspired for this project about coding by a presentation done by my coworkers who attended a workshop on robotics. They displayed ways these materials can be used in the classroom in a variety of ways. Along with introducing the students to new technology the students will learn other skills as well. They will learn positional words, problem solving skills, preplanning and scientific inquiry skills. In addition, the product will introduce them to new vocabulary, experience and ways to work together in a hands on way. As a first year teacher, I want to inspire my students to become innovators and scientific thinkers. These materials range from coding and planning with technology to planning and building with hands on materials to make something new and intricate. The students will be proud of their creation and accomplishments during this project to spark new interest and explore a future of coding, building and technical skills.
